In the recent DC Fandome panel for Superman & Lois<\/em>, executive producer Todd Helbing confirmed that the upcoming The CW series will be set in the iconic town of Smallville.<\/p>\n

Speaking with DC’s publisher and creative director Jim Lee, Helbing said that he wanted a more grounded version of Superman<\/a> for this show. And one of the biggest differences to previous shows based on the character is that this time around, Clark and Lois are married.<\/p>\n

Explaining his decision for setting it in the Kent’s hometown rather than Metropolis, Helbing said “obviously, there was the Smallville<\/em> series. But I came from a small town in the Midwest, and the town that I grew up in had a business leave that sort of affected everybody in the town, and the town started to dry up. It felt very current with recent years after 2008.”<\/p>\n
