In turn, the studio made\u00a0<em><strong>WWE 2K Battlegrounds<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/em>a wacky, colorful, and entirely over-the-top new take on the biggest brand in Sport&#8217;s Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>The game launched today on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-direct-mini-partner-showcase-9-17-2020-recap\/\">Nintendo Switch<\/a>, seeing players able to access a giant roster of current and legendary names, such as\u00a0Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, John Cena, &#8220;The Fiend&#8221; Bray Wyatt,\u00a0and\u00a0Edge<em>.\u00a0<\/em>Another big name playable in the game is, of course,\u00a0The Undertaker<em>,\u00a0<\/em>with the phenom&#8217;s face plastered all over the upcoming release&#8217;s marketing materials and ads.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-undertaker-retire-wwe-2020\/\">The Undertaker Announces His Retirement from WWE<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The latter has even made his way into a brand new trailer, with the footage showing off the now-retired wrestling icon playing\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/wwe-2k-battlegrounds\/\">WWE 2K Battlegrounds<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>with his wife and fellow legend Michelle McCool as well as his young daughter. Seeing The Undertaker out of kayfabe is always strange, especially because his wrestling gimmick\u00a0made him such a larger than life presence, but seeing him play\u00a0<em>WWE 2K Battlegrounds\u00a0<\/em>is especially odd. The trailer mostly sees something of a fierce battle brewing between the phenom and his daughter, with The Undertaker losing and immediately requesting a rematch.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2sAxmkPK0Bo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The trailer then cuts to tons of footage from the newly released game, showing The Rock pull of a gravity-defying mid-air punch on John Cena,\u00a0Becky Lynch hit Rhonda Rousey with a motorcycle, and The Undertaker punch\u00a0the ground with such an impact that the ring collapses. It&#8217;s evidently going to bring a lot of welcome silliness and over-the-top fun in comparison to the more simulative\u00a0<em>WWE 2K\u00a0<\/em>titles that have hit shelves in previous years, making it a great pit stop while fans\u00a0wait for\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wwe-2k22-everything-know-so-far\/\">WWE 2K22<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The game will also be getting a lot of post-launch content, although it&#8217;s still unclear as to when that will be. Following launch, Batista, Sheamus, Paige, Kane, Rhea Ripley, Buddy Murphy, The Boogeyman, Eddie Guerrero, and more will make their way into the title, leaving the roster roughly the same size as a normal, yearly\u00a0<em>WWE\u00a0<\/em>release. Until then, there&#8217;s still a huge variety of huge wrestling names to play with, meaning\u00a0players can set up some incredible dream matches.
