One MMO growing in popularity as of late is\u00a0<em><strong>Black Desert Online<\/strong><\/em>, which caught the attention of Twitch streamer Sodapoppin. Unfortunately, Sodapoppin&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em> play came to an abrupt halt recently, as he was temporarily banned from the game.<\/p>\n<p>At first, Sodapoppin was confused by his\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/black-desert-online\/\"><em>Black Desert Online<\/em><\/a> ban, as he had been playing the game with no problems and seemingly didn&#8217;t do anything to warrant a ban. However, it then came to light that Sodapoppin was banned from\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em> for the name he used in the game.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/twitch-ends-mid-roll-ad-test-backlash\/\">Twitch Ends Mid-Roll Ad Test Following Strong Backlash from Streaming Community<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Evidently, Sodapoppin&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em> account name was &#8220;pedowan&#8221; &#8211; likely an inappropriate pun on &#8220;padawan&#8221; from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/star-wars-legions-unit-expansions\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Star Wars<\/em><\/a>. It seems as though language like this isn&#8217;t allowed by\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em>&#8216;s Terms of Service, though some were still shocked that the developers banned Sodapoppin, given his status as a popular Twitch streamer that could potentially bring more players to the MMORPG.\u00a0On the bright side for Sodapoppin fans, though, his ban was only for 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.twitch.tv\/sodapoppin\/clip\/FreezingSuccessfulSalamanderPeoplesChamp\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>According to some of the comments in a Reddit thread about the situation,\u00a0Sodapoppin&#8217;s &#8220;pedowan&#8221; name isn&#8217;t new. Apparently, he participated in a sponsored stream for\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em> years ago, and it was during that stream that he first used the &#8220;pedowan&#8221; name. So he still had this name when he returned to\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em>, causing the ban.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Sodapoppin is currently banned from\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em>, it will be interesting to see if his time playing the game translates into more players for it in the grand scheme of things.\u00a0<em>Black Desert Online<\/em> has grown immensely in the last year, in no small part thanks to it being ported to mobile platforms as well as PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (with <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/black-desert-earn-2000-gifted-sellswords-xbox-game-pass-quest-march\/\"><em>Black Desert Online<\/em> available on Xbox Game Pass<\/a>), and being played by a popular streamer could only help its status. Then again, Sodapoppin fans may be upset by his ban and decide to avoid the game because of it.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/black-desert-online-cross-play\/\"><em>Black Desert Online<\/em> has managed to reach new heights with the game expanding to other platforms<\/a>, and it is showing no signs of slowing down.
