Boon had to clarify that he was not talking about the movies star, Freddy Krueger, who\u00a0has <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/freddy-krueger-mortal-kombat-trailer\/\">already been featured in a <em>Mortal Kombat <\/em>game<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/noobde\/status\/1307395578008088578?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Fans have been trying\u00a0to pinpoint who Ed Boon might be teasing. The two most prevalent theories are classic <em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> character Ermac, or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-kombat-11-ash-williams-evil-dead-datamine\/\">the long-rumored star of the <em>Evil Dead<\/em> films, Ash Williams<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The argument for\u00a0<em>Mortal Kombat 3 <\/em>character Ermac relates to the floating victim featured in the trailer for <em>A Nightmare On Elm Street<\/em>. Fans have\u00a0suggested that one will see Ermac\u2019s enemies float, as related to his powers, when they \u201clook up to the sky and see.\u201d Ermac has been <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-kombat-11-where-is-ermac\/\">a desired character since the release of <em>Mortal Kombat 11<\/em><\/a>, since he has been in many prior\u00a0<em>MK <\/em>games.<\/p>\n<p>The other possibility is Ash from <em>The Evil Dead <\/em>movies, directed by Sam Raimi. The reasoning from these\u00a0two teases is that a character in <em>A Nightmare on Elm Street<\/em> is seen watching <em>The Evil Dead<\/em>, but the connection to the Queen song is more\u00a0tenuous. Some feel it may related to an\u00a0iconic poster for <em>The Evil Dead <\/em>that\u00a0features a woman looking up to the sky while trying to escape a zombies\u2019 grasp.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/il-794xN.1451452546-odlm.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>The main argument for Ash being the DLC character is that he has already been rumored, leaked, teased and denied multiple times over the past year. It started last year with a chainsaw sound at the end of a <em>MK11 <\/em>trailer and continued with supposed leaks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/ash-evil-dead-army-of-darkness-bruce-campbell-mortal-kombat-11-mk11\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">including his name being listed on materials for the game<\/a>, and a denial from actor Bruce Campbell. The back-and-forth suggests either technical issues with the character, or licensing issues concerning his use in the game.<\/p>\n<p>While many may be interested in\u00a0Ermac returning, Ash is also a good fit following other R-rated film characters coming as fighters throughout the series, including the Terminator, Freddy, Jason, a\u00a0Xenomorph,\u00a0and the Predator.
