Any company trying to release a new console or game system into the current market is in for a tough time. This was epitomized by the rocky launch of Stadia, Google’s streaming platform. Despite an increasing library of games, including the arrival of Risk of Rain 2<\/em><\/a>, Stadia still has troubles.<\/p>\n

This is hardly surprising for a number of reasons.\u00a0Stadia<\/a>‘s launch was marked by issues streaming the games, a small library, and a serious lack of exclusives. At this point, Stadia is actually free for a trial period before committing. This speaks to Google’s desire to gain a steady playerbase fast before Stadia becomes a lost cause. To that end, Google launched the Stadia Makers Program.<\/p>\n

To combat the Stadia player base plummeting<\/a>, the Stadia Makers Program was introduced for indie game developers. It works with Unity and game devs to help them get their game published (on the Stadia of course), apparently helping with development donations in various forms. A recent tweet highlighted several games that the program has apparently helped bring to fruition and showed off when they will be arriving on Stadia.<\/p>\n
