In this quick tutorial, we’ll discuss how we can check if a method is static<\/a><\/em> or not in Java by using the Reflection<\/a> API.<\/p>\n

To demonstrate this, we’ll create StaticUtility <\/em>class, with some static methods:<\/p>\n

public class StaticUtility {\r\n    public static String getAuthorName() {\r\n        return \"Umang Budhwar\";\r\n    }\r\n    public static LocalDate getLocalDate() {\r\n        return LocalDate.now();\r\n    }\r\n    public static LocalTime getLocalTime() {\r\n        return LocalTime.now();\r\n    }\r\n}<\/code><\/pre>\n
3. Check If a Method is static<\/em><\/h2>\n

We can check if a method is\u00a0static<\/em> or not by using the Modifier<\/a>.isStatic<\/em> method<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

In the above example, we’ve first got the instance of the method which we want to test by using the Class.getMethod<\/em> method. Once we have the method reference, all we need to do is just call the Modifier.isStatic<\/em> method.<\/p>\n
4. Get All\u00a0static<\/em> Methods of a Class<\/h2>\n

Now that we already know how to check if a method is\u00a0static<\/em> or not, we can easily list all the\u00a0static<\/em> methods of a class:<\/p>\n

In the above code, we’ve just verified the total number of static<\/em> methods in our class StaticUtility<\/em>.<\/p>\n
