A new cinematic has been released to promote Season 6 of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare\/\"><em>Modern Warfare<\/em><\/a>, featuring new operators and teasing a new playable area in <em>Call of Duty Warzone<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Set to begin September 29th, season 6 will place <em>Modern Warfare<\/em> campaign protagonist Farah front and center. Many\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-campaign-should-be-operators\/\">fans have wanted Farah as a\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em> operator<\/a> in online modes for some time now, so seeing her join the lineup of selectable characters should prove a welcome addition. Nikolai, Captain Price\u2019s lawbreaking associate, will also be one of the Season 6 operators when it arrives at the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-playlist-updates-9-25\/\">Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Bringing Back Shipment 24\/7 and More Popular Playlists This Week<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The trailer showcases Farah and Nikolai stealthily retaking a subway station, immediately drawing attention to a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-warzone-map-leak-reveals-metro-subway-next-season\/\"><em>Warzone<\/em> leak from last month<\/a>. The leak showed subway stations as part of the Verdansk map, and sure enough, the overhead view of the <em>Warzone<\/em> play area all but confirms a subway system in the next season of <em>Modern Warfare<\/em> content. The subway seems to be fairly expansive based on the trailer, so it should mix up the gameplay of Warzone quite a bit.<\/p>\n<p>With the trailer description \u201ctake to the tunnels,\u201d the main focus seems to be getting placed on this map addition. If players only focus on this map change and the appearance of the campaign characters Farah and Nikolai, they may not notice the next weapon coming to the game. While it is not quite the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-modern-warfare-mw2-acr-overlooked-best-guns\/\">MP7 and ACR addition requested by pro players<\/a>, the AS Val assault rifle can be seen in the cinematic and on Farah\u2019s shoulder in the Season 6 promotional image at the end of the trailer.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ly8vemvO4Y4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The trailer also features a voiceover from Captain Price, as well as the cast of characters discussing taking out antagonist Imran Zakhaev. As the original antagonist of <em>Call of Duty 4<\/em> and the villain set up as part of the ongoing Spec Ops and <em>Warzone<\/em> narrative, when the protagonists will kill Zakhaev is unclear. It may occur in a final cinematic at the end of the season or it could be saved for <em>Modern Warfare<\/em>\u2019s sequel. It could always happen in a DLC spec ops mission, too, though that seems unlikely given that players are <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-delete-campaign-spec-ops-how\/\">deleting Spec Ops mode to make storage space<\/a> for <em>Modern Warfare<\/em>\u2019s huge updates.<\/p>\n<p>With Season 6 on the way, now is the perfect time for those interested to jump into <em>Modern Warfare<\/em>.
