WWE 2K Battlegrounds<\/strong><\/em> is the latest professional wrestling game to be published by 2K Sports.\u00a0Just like developer Saber Interactive’s previous title, NBA 2K Playgrounds 2<\/em>, WWE 2K Battlegrounds<\/em> is a fast-paced, arcade version of a long-running sports series. In fact, WWE 2K Battlegrounds<\/em><\/a> actually took the place of 2K’s normal yearly WWE game, which was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the especially poor reception to\u00a0WWE 2K20<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In the game players take control of various WWE wrestlers<\/a>, who have access to all kinds of oddball weapons and moves. This is where the game’s arcade-y style comes through, as all sorts of bizarre power-ups are available.\u00a0Players will\u00a0then use these moves to battle it out against other wrestlers in arenas all across the world.\u00a0Only one of these arenas, New York, is available at the beginning of the game, and the rest will have to be unlocked through play.<\/p>\n

There are eight different arenas in WWE 2K Battlegrounds<\/em>, each with a unique setting and their own special interactions. As a result, players will be able to throw their opponents out of helicopters or into the jaws of alligators from Scotland to the Everglades<\/a>.
