Nothing official has been announced to date, but some new Nintendo trademarks may very well suggest that\u00a0<em><strong>Pokemon HeartGold<\/strong><\/em> and\u00a0<em><strong>SoulSilver<\/strong><\/em>, the DS remakes of the classic Game Boy Color games, will be coming to Switch at some point in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>Nintendo renewed its\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/pokemon\/\"><em>HeartGold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>SoulSilver<\/em><\/a> trademarks on September 17, as pointed out by abcboy101 on Twitter. Now, it&#8217;s entirely possible that Nintendo did this as just a routine trademark renewal, but it&#8217;s also possible that this could be a hint at future plans for\u00a0<em>HeartGold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>SoulSilver<\/em>. Maybe Nintendo plans on remaking the games for the Switch, or, the more likely scenario, maybe Nintendo is going to port the games to its home console\/handheld hybrid instead.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-paris-fashion-week\/\">Pokemon GO Announces Paris Fashion Week Event, Accessories<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While the Wii U has a variety of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/nintendo-ds-best-role-playing-games\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Nintendo DS games<\/a> available to download, the Switch has no equivalent Virtual Console service. And not only that, but the Switch&#8217;s design may make porting DS games to it a little more difficult than it was with the Wii U. Considering this, Nintendo could release slightly tweaked versions of\u00a0<em>HeartGold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>SoulSilver<\/em> on the Switch that remove the dual-screen functionality and rework things so that it all works when playing on a single screen.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/abcboy101\/status\/1308457517626929152\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>If Nintendo is planning on re-releasing\u00a0<em>Pokemon HeartGold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>SoulSilver<\/em>, it&#8217;s safe to say that it could very well upset some fans of the franchise. After all, many\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> fans have been clamoring for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-diamond-pearl-remake-2021-leaks-gigantamax\/\"><em>Pokemon Diamond<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Pearl<\/em> remakes<\/a>, with the games, and their Sinnoh region, trending worldwide on Twitter after every\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> series announcement event. If Nintendo were to announce\u00a0<em>HeartGold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>SoulSilver<\/em> ports instead of <em>Diamond\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Pearl<\/em> remakes, it could upset those who want to revisit the DS games.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, fans may want Nintendo to go a bit further if it plans on reviving\u00a0<em>HeartGold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>SoulSilver<\/em> for Switch. For example, some may want to see Nintendo create\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-lets-go-gold-silver-switch\/\"><em>Let&#8217;s Go Gold<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Silver<\/em><\/a>, which is a potential project that&#8217;s been rumored for some time. While it wouldn&#8217;t be quite the main series\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> release that some fans would want,\u00a0<em>Let&#8217;s Go Pikachu<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Eevee<\/em> certainly had its fans, and at least this way it would give fans a new way to experience the Johto region.<\/p>\n<p>But all of this is just speculation at this time.
