When Rocket League<\/em><\/strong> developer Psyonix was acquired by Epic Games last year, it was clear that changes would be coming to the popular car-soccer game. Today, the biggest of these changes, Rocket League<\/em>\u2019s transition to being free-to-play<\/a>, has finally arrived, bringing with it a seasonal reset and the removal of the game from Steam\u2019s storefront. Not only that, the transition has set the stage for this weekend\u2019s crossover event with Fortnite, \u201cLlama-Rama.”<\/p>\n

With the move to free-to-play, the game\u00a0is now on similar footing with Epic\u2019s popular battle royale, and to celebrate that, the\u00a0upcoming event will give players the opportunity to unlock exclusive Fortnite<\/em>-themed rewards in Rocket League<\/em><\/a>, along with Rocket League<\/em>-themed items that can be used in Fortnite<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In typical Fortnite<\/em> fashion, players will be able to earn these cosmetic items through in-game challenges that can be completed while they play normally. Completing each challenge will reward players with one Llama-blazoned cosmetic, which they will need to have equipped in order to complete each subsequent challenge. Fortnite<\/em> players who have been taking on the\u00a0challenges tied to\u00a0Season 4’s\u00a0Marvel character skins<\/a> should have a good idea of what to expect.<\/p>\n

The Llama-Rama event will take place from September 26 to October 12. While it won\u2019t be kicking off for another few days, Epic has already revealed the challenges and the rewards each will provide players (which is just as well, since Fortnite<\/em>\u2019s challenges tend to leak ahead of time<\/a> anyway).
