With <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/a> being the first <em>COD<\/em> title to transition to next-gen since <em>Call of Duty: Ghost<\/em> in 2013, this is the opportunity to add some features that fans have been asking for, and are now only possible with the new generation of video games.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-pc-blizzard-battle-net\/\">PC version of <em>Black Ops Cold War <\/em>will be handled by Beenox<\/a><i>, <\/i>and it will come with some upper-echelon features. According to a video that was recently released, the PC version of <em>Cold War <\/em>features uncapped framerates, a high refresh rate, and even a customizable field of view.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/black-ops-cold-war-zombies-teaser-image\/\">Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Reveals First Zombies Teaser Image<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Beenox tells fans that <em>Black Ops Cold War<\/em>&#8216;s engine takes advantage of DirectX 12 API, which will result in reduced latency issues. It will also, excitingly, support real-time <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ray-tracing-details-information\/\">ray-tracing, which helps in many ways<\/a>, including making the game look more realistic, provide better lighting and reflection, and more. The additional effects with\u00a0DirectX 12 API could help <em>Cold War<\/em> be the best looking <em>Call of Duty<\/em> yet.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WRxV53JqOhM?start=45&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Other features like being able to adjust the field of view is something that has become standard in PC titles, but the confirmation of this will assuredly be appreciated by fans. In games like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/warzone-console-pc-fov-slider-cross-play\/\"><em>Warzone<\/em>, it is seen as a disadvantage that console players do not have an FOV slider<\/a>, especially since the game is cross-platform. The hope is that with the Xbox Series X and PS5, players will be able to have more flexibility like their PC counterparts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-black-ops-cold-wars-sequel-bo1\/\"><em>Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War<\/em> is a direct sequel to the original <em>Black Ops<\/em><\/a>, taking place during some of the tensest years of the Cold War, in the early 1980s.\u00a0With that in mind, it may be wise to brush up on the original game&#8217;s story for those who possibly haven&#8217;t\u00a0played it since it came out in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The new <em>Black Ops<\/em> will also have some new features and modes from within multiplayer, as seen in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-alpha-loadout-scorestreak\/\">alpha for <em>Cold War<\/em><\/a>\u00a0that recently dropped on PS4. Along with the standard set of new maps and weapons,<em> Cold War<\/em> will see the addition of a large-scale mode on massive maps, and even a mysterious three-player squad-based mode. One of the questions, in regards to some of the features that Beenox confirmed for <em>Cold War<\/em>, is whether or not all of these will translate to multiplayer.
