Titled\u00a0<em>Silent Hill Respite,\u00a0<\/em>the map\u00a0itself acts as something of a tribute to the revered horror property, featuring nods and references towards some of the most iconic aspects of\u00a0<em>Silent Hill 1, 2, 3,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>4.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/medium-silent-hill-composer-music\/\">The Medium Horror Game Reunites Silent Hill Music Collaborators<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The map itself takes place in one room with a view of the ominously foggy streets of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/silent-hill\/\">Silent Hill<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>outside, with the eerie location modeled after\u00a0the cafe 5to2 from the original game\u00a0and filled with easter eggs and callbacks\u00a0to the franchise&#8217;s greatest moments.\u00a0There&#8217;s a\u00a0chained door behind the counter that acts as a nod to the entrance to Room 302 from\u00a0<em>Silent Hill 4: The Room,\u00a0<\/em>while James&#8217; car from\u00a0<em>Silent Hill 2\u00a0<\/em>is parked outside alongside a puddle of water to reference the game&#8217;s jaw-dropping end-game reveal. Looking out the window also reveals the presence of a shadowy figure amongst the fog, which is far from an uncommon sight throughout the\u00a0<em>Silent Hill\u00a0<\/em>series.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tLmZb1bpQGE?start=428&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Discussing the creation of the map, TrollForce uploaded some director&#8217;s commentary, revealing how long it took to release the\u00a0<em>Silent Hill\u00a0<\/em>tribute. According to the developer, they spent around a month bringing the map to life, with the textures supposedly taking the longest time to make seen as TrollForce doesn&#8217;t have access to Photoshop.<\/p>\n<p>They also run through some of the more detailed items in the room, such as a pinboard brandishing the profiles of some of the series most notable characters. TrollForce made sure to note who was alive and dead on the board, leaving the pictures of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/silent-hill-town-representation-each-main-character\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Silent Hill&#8217;s\u00a0<\/em>survivors<\/a> in color and the ones deceased in black and white. As expected, the latter outweighs the former significantly.<\/p>\n<p>The map is available now and can be downloaded <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moddb.com\/mods\/silent-hill-respite\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here.<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>For those looking for even more\u00a0<em>Silent Hill\u00a0<\/em>content,\u00a0<em>Dead by Daylight\u00a0<\/em>recently released a new skin for\u00a0Cheryl Mason, with the cosmetic bringing\u00a0the first\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dead-daylight-silent-hill-cybil-bennett\/\"><em>Silent Hill&#8217;s\u00a0<\/em>Cybil Bennett<\/a> to the game.
