Fans of Bethesda’s\u00a0Fallout 76<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0should be made aware that the game’s servers are about to go down for an unspecified amount of time.<\/p>\n

In a post to Bethesda<\/a>‘s\u00a0Fallout 76<\/em>\u00a0forum, Community Manager Valseek wrote that the\u00a0game’s servers will be going down at 10 AM ET (2 PM UTC) on Tuesday, September 29. This is so that the dev team can perform routine maintenance and apply hotfixes.<\/p>\n

The Creation Engine, which is used in both\u00a0Fallout 76<\/em> and\u00a0Skyrim<\/em>, has been in use for the better part of a decade. While there are those arguing it’s time for Bethesda to step away from the engine<\/a>, it is still being maintained and updated.\u00a0This scheduled downtime has all the indications of routine maintenance, and if all goes smoothly players will be able to get back into the game soon.<\/p>\n

There are indications that the creatures affected by the\u00a0One Wasteland patch<\/a>\u00a0are going to receive some tweaking for better balance. This update made it so that creatures in\u00a0Fallout 76<\/em> would have dynamic stats that adjust to the creature’s various stats to better match the experience levels of players it is fighting. This means a low-level player can run around with one or more high-level players while being reasonably sure they will not be hugely outmatched.<\/p>\n

While\u00a0players\u00a0will be unable to explore Camp Venture<\/a>\u00a0or visit any player-built memorials until after the dev team has finished maintenance, the other\u00a0Fallout<\/em> games are still available to play in the meantime.<\/p>\n

Bethesda Support is encouraging players to report any bugs they may encounter in\u00a0Fallout 76<\/em> both\u00a0before and after the fix as soon as possible. Further developments, including the expected restoration time, will be posted to the forum post linked below.<\/p>\n

Fallout 76<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.<\/p>\n
