Capcom has possibly decided to add a new gameplay mechanic to the mix for the long-awaited Resident Evil 8<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Recently, Capcom unveiled new gameplay for\u00a0Resident Evil 8<\/em> at the 2020 Tokyo Game Show<\/a>\u00a0for fans to watch at home. The company got a thirty-minute time slot to answer many of the viewer’s questions about the game and showcase the new possibilities players have within the world of Resident Evil 8<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Among the many additions to the game, such as more exploration and open environments for Resident Evil 8<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0Capcom has reportedly come up with the idea to implement new gameplay ideas for the game, such as a crafting mechanic. This new crafting system has many fans curious about their unique strategies for fighting off the zombie horde.<\/p>\n

During the game show, the audience was not able to see the gameplay footage of Resident Evil 8<\/em><\/a>\u00a0themselves, but rather through the perspective of Comedian and Singer Eiko Kano, who got to play some unseen portions of the game. Kano announced to the viewers that at the beginning of the game, the enemies would drop both money and materials that\u00a0could be used in the crafting mechanic.<\/p>\n

Kano also goes into detail about the other ways that players can interact with the environment of the game. Kano stated that the portion he played took place in winter, and he had very little in terms of weapons and ammunition. To improvise, he would use his surroundings to adapt to different situations, such as using furniture to attack Resident Evil 8’s enemies<\/em><\/a>\u00a0or use couches to block off doors so that zombies couldn’t come inside. Due to this, there was a humorful comparison made during the stream between Resident Evil 8<\/em> and Home Alone,<\/em>\u00a0as both had interesting ideas for homemade traps.<\/em><\/p>\n

Perhaps the new crafting system is meant to guide players to explore the new environment and work their way up from barely struggling to stay alive within the zombie apocalypse. Sadly, fans still have many questions about Resident Evil 8<\/em><\/a>. And until there is more direct gameplay footage to show, there is only so much to assume how in-depth Capcom plans to work the crafting system into the game. Either way, fans of Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>can rest easy knowing that there are plans to expand the series onto the next generation of consoles. Hopefully, Resident Evil 8<\/em> can live up to the hype many fans had for\u00a0Resident Evil 7 <\/em>when it came out.<\/p>\n
