Launching alongside the PlayStation 5 this November,\u00a0Sackboy: A Big Adventure\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>looks to bring the mascot who starred as the protagonist of Media Molecule’s\u00a0LittleBigPlanet\u00a0<\/em>series<\/a>\u00a0into a new platforming-based adventure. Here, Sackboy will trade in the 2D style of his previous outings for a 3D viewpoint, as he traverses across large new environments with 60fps gameplay.<\/p>\n

Ned Waterhouse, the design director for Sackboy: A Big Adventure<\/em>\u00a0over at Sumo Digital, revealed more about the special editions for the upcoming PlayStation 5 launch title<\/a>\u00a0in a recent PlayStation Blog post. The game will get two collector’s editions, with Waterhouse showing off a digital deluxe copy and a PlayStation 4-exclusive special edition that includes a few extra\u00a0goodies for fans.<\/p>\n

The Digital Deluxe Edition of Sackboy: A Big Adventure\u00a0<\/em>is available for both PlayStation 4 and 5, featuring tons of extra content. Alongside the full game, it offers a digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and four PlayStation 4-themed skins. These skins are all callbacks to some of the PS4’s most critically-acclaimed classics, including\u00a0Death Stranding’s\u00a0<\/em>Sam Porter Bridges,\u00a0Ghost of Tsushima<\/a>‘s\u00a0<\/em>Jin Sakai, Detroit: Become<\/em> Human<\/em>‘s Connor,\u00a0<\/em>and Days Gone<\/em>‘s\u00a0Deacon St. John.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

All four characters will also come with unique emotes.\u00a0The Digital Deluxe Edition will also include 20 Sackboy avatars, perfect for those looking to spruce up their PSN account as they transition to the next generation.<\/p>\n

The PlayStation 4-exclusive<\/a>\u00a0Special Edition includes a physical version of the artbook and a Sackboy keychain. Sumo Digital has seemingly gone all out\u00a0to provide some fun\u00a0additional goodies for fans of LittleBigPlanet<\/em> who want to buy the more expensive versions of the game.<\/p>\n

On top of both special editions, Waterhouse also said\u00a0players who pre-order\u00a0Sackboy: A Big Adventure<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>will get a story-focused bonus to go alongside the game.\u00a0That bonus\u00a0is a\u00a0digital comic titled\u00a0Gathering Storm\u00a0<\/em>which\u00a0acts as a prequel for\u00a0Sackboy’s former mentor Scarlet, who the PlayStation Blog reveals\u00a0is “Craftworld’s last remaining knitted knight.”<\/p>\n

The bonus, alongside the rest of the special edition extras, will make for solid additional content for those looking to invest more in\u00a0Sackboy’s\u00a0<\/em>world when the game debuts.\u00a0Hopefully, the quality of the special editions will match that of the game itself, with\u00a0Sackboy: A Big Adventure\u00a0<\/em>primed to potentially reignite the\u00a0LittleBigPlanet<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>fanbase when it launches alongside the\u00a0PlayStation 5.<\/p>\n
