Destiny 2<\/strong><\/em>‘s\u00a0Beyond Light\u00a0<\/em>expansion is drawing closer and closer to release. In fact, at the time of writing, it’s only just over a month away, with pre-loads becoming available the day before release<\/a>, which is recommended considering the rather hefty download size.<\/p>\n

Die-hard fans are no doubt already familiar with some of the new content and additions already confirmed for the expansion, such as new armor, a new Stasis element, a dynamic weather system<\/a>, and new story, with the first game’s Exo Stranger making a return as well. But Bungie has also outlined some new technical enhancements and changes that may slip under players’ noses.<\/p>\n

First of all, in this week’s Bungie blog post, it’s been confirmed that Bungie has rebuilt\u00a0Destiny 2<\/a><\/em>‘s character face system. While it may not be an entirely noticeable change, Bungie admits that its original system had some problems which prevented it from expanding upon customization features and the like. With the improvements made, it will be able to add more player customization options in the future.<\/p>\n

Bungie has also reviewed the already existing character models with its Diversity Committee and Employee Resource Groups in order to make some tweaks to the faces and is working on introducing more face shapes so as to make players’ Guardians more diverse and help allow players to better imagine themselves as their own Guardians. This is the company’s latest efforts to be more supportive of its players and the Destiny 2<\/em> community.<\/a><\/p>\n

While arguably minute changes, these could be welcomed by those that appreciate making their characters look a specific way, though this is only for new players who will be jumping into\u00a0Destiny 2\u00a0<\/em>for the first time. There’s still no plans for allowing existing players to fundamentally alter their Guardian, which is something fans have wanted for a while.<\/p>\n

Another minor tweak has been made to the lighting in certain areas, specifically EDZ and Nessus, which have been around since the game’s first year. According to Bungie, the Lighting and Skies team have wanted to improve these areas’ visuals somewhat and provide a fresh coat of paint since the early stages of\u00a0Beyond Light<\/em>‘s production.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, dedicated fans have been poring over the trailers to try and uncover any more hints about\u00a0Beyond Light\u00a0<\/em>and some believe they’ve found evidence that\u00a0the mysterious Darkness enemy<\/a> may finally reveal itself.<\/p>\n

Players who may have dropped\u00a0Destiny 2\u00a0<\/em>for a bit and are considering or have just jumped back in may also want to spend the next month preparing themselves so they’re completely ready for when\u00a0<\/em><\/a>Beyond Light\u00a0<\/em><\/a>releases<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Destiny 2<\/em><\/strong>: Beyond Light\u00a0<\/em>will release on November 10 for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One. It will also release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n
