Every episode is packed with laughs, relatability, and the perfect amount of foolishness. The show follows Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), a civil servant working for the Department of\u00a0Parks and Recreation in the small fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana.\u00a0Within the parks department, Leslie is accompanied by the anti-government director, Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman), the showy<em> wanna-be-influencer<\/em> Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari), and the deadpan intern April Ludgate (Aubrey Plaza). Their antics only grow with the introduction of state auditors Chris Traeger (Rob Lowe) and Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott), who quickly grow from recurring characters to being regulars. All of the <em>Parks and Recreation<\/em> characters are extremely likable and nobody takes themselves too seriously. The show doesn\u2019t rely on low blows and heavy drama; it is a light and hilarious watch, making Pawnee the perfect town to explore while seeking out comfort and warm feelings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/top-ten-catchiest-songs-from-my-crazy-ex-girlfriend\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Top Ten Catchiest Songs From My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0as of October <em>1, Park and Recreation<\/em> will be joining <em>The Office<\/em>, <em>Harry Potter,<\/em> and all <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/unforgettable-movie-star-skits-saturday-night-live-snl\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">45 seasons of <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> on Peacock, a streaming service by NBCUniversial. On the plus side, it has been reported that it will be available on Peacock\u2019s free tier, and if not, the $4.99 subscription price to access Peacock Premium is lower than Netflix\u2019s starting price at $8.99 a month. While fretting over the soon-to-be departure of this beloved show, listed below are a few must-revisit episodes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UdLIx2zAuL8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Season 2, Episode 1<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This episode has one of the greatest openers of all time: Ron Swanson tells Leslie Knope, \u201cHere\u2019s the situation\u201d and she interrupts him to rap a full verse of \u201cParents Just Don\u2019t Understand\u201d to which he replies, \u201cSomeone is on fire at Ramsett Park.\u201d This scene itself deserves a constant replay. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the fun doesn&#8217;t stop there, Leslie finds herself\u00a0officiating the marriage of two penguins to give the Parks Department some good publicity,\u00a0only to discover the penguins are two males\u2014 thus igniting the town\u2019s conservative homophobes while others declare her a gay hero.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Parks-and-Rec-debate.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Season 4, Episode 20<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the greatest political elections in comedy television was the race for City Council candidacy in <em>Parks and Recreation<\/em>. This episode pits studious and prepared Leslie Knope in a debate against her election competitors; ex-pornstar Brandi Maxxxx, \u201c<\/span><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M<\/span><\/em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><em>an who sells you your guns at the Gun-believable Gun Emporium<\/em>\u201d Fester Trim, and the wealthy-but-unintelligent Bobby Newport (<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ant-man-3-paul-rudd-coronavirus-video-amazing\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paul Rudd<\/a>).\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wandavision-first-trailer\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kathryn Hahn<\/a> also makes an appearance as Jennifer Barkley, Bobby Newport\u2019s campaign manager.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The Debate&#8221;\u00a0features Leslie\u2019s friends working hard to campaign for her and show their support on\u00a0debate night. The loveable City Hall shoe-shiner Andy Dwyer (Chris Pratt) and his girlfriend April Ludgate decided to host a viewing party for Leslie\u2019s supporters but hilariously enough, their cable goes out. In a scramble to entertain their guests, Andy begins acting out scenes from his favorite movies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Parks-and-Rec-Women-in-Garbage.jpg\"\/><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Season 5, Episode 11<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The episode&#8217;s title gives it all away. In this episode, while championing gender equality, Leslie Knope becomes outraged about the lack of women representation in the city&#8217;s government. She decides to tackle the sanitation department\u2019s lack of garbage collectors by enlisting April Ludgate to serve as garbage-women for the day to prove that the job can be done just as well with women on the team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the flip side, reserved and uncomplicated Ron Swanson agrees to babysit his girlfriend\u2019s (played by <em>Xena<\/em>\u2019s Lucy Lawless) children. Convinced that he\u2019s no good with children, he asks Anne Perkins, Leslie Knope\u2019s best friend\/temporary campaign manager, and super-cool nurse (Rashida Jones),\u00a0for help, despite her awkwardness and admitted detachment from children. This episode packs an endless amount of hilarity as the entire town seems to only agree on one thing: their obsession with Li\u2019l Sebastian\u2014 an obsession that State Auditor and Leslie\u2019s future love interest, Ben Wyatt fails to understand. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other occurrences include: Anne telling her at-the-time boyfriend Andy that she loves him (who responds with \u201cAwesomesauce!\u201d), and the leader of the town\u2019s local Native tribe convincing everybody that the grounds\u00a0on which the parks department&#8217;s fundraising festival is taking place is haunted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two things I know about white people: they love Rachael Ray, and they are terrified of curses.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While <em>Parks and Recreation<\/em> has found another home on NBCUniversial\u2019s Peacock, it will always have a place in the hearts of its viewers.
