Even in 2020, those games continue to inspire new ones, and that includes the upcoming Nintendo Switch title <em><strong>Macbat 64: Journey of a Nice Chap<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Developed by Diplodocus Games and originally released on Steam in 2017, it was recently announced that the game would be joining other <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/yooka-laylee-review\/\">N64-inspired titles like <\/a><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/yooka-laylee-review\/\">Yooka-Laylee<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>on the Switch, though when exactly has been a bit of a mystery. That\u2019s no longer the case, because according to its newly-launched Nintendo eShop listing, the game will finally launch on Nintendo\u2019s console this Friday, October 2, priced at just $2.99.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/super-mario-64-vs-mario-odyssey-good\/\">Replaying Mario 64 is a Reminder of Mario Odyssey&#8217;s Excellence<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While described as a love letter to late 1990s platformers in general, the game should definitely appeal to fans of <em>Banjo-Kazooie<\/em> in particular. From its cast of googly-eyed characters to its focus on exploration, the game takes heavy inspiration from Rare\u2019s classic series. Whether that will be enough for fans who\u2019ve been wanting a new <em>Banjo<\/em> game (or even an <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/banjo-kazooie-hd-remake\/\">HD remake of <em>Banjo-Kazooie<\/em><\/a>) remains to be seen, but until that happens, <em>Macbat 64<\/em> looks like the next best thing.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YB-Sv_u-DKY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Though the nostalgic 3D platforming is the meat of the game, the Steam page for <em>Macbat 64<\/em> promises plenty of additional content to keep things interesting.
