While some\u00a0liked what they saw, one of the remastered clips was met with irritation from some fans when it was revealed\u00a0Peter Parker&#8217;s face had been redesigned. One comparison that many are making relates to the similarities between the new\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/spider-man\/\">Spider-Man<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>character model and Spider-Man&#8217;s current live-action actor.<\/p>\n<p>Insomniac Games explained why it\u00a0decided to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/spider-man-remastered-peter-parker-face-change-why\/\">change Peter Parker&#8217;s face<\/a>, but this hasn&#8217;t\u00a0stopped fans from reacting online. Many believe this new version of the character model looks a lot younger than the previous version on the PS4. This game is meant to take place several years after Peter Parker first became Spider-Man, thus it makes sense in the narrative for the character to look older.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/spiderman-games-best-ever-ranked\/\">Ranked: The 10 Best Spider-Man Video Games Of All Time<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The character redesign looks younger by comparison, and at the same time, it bears a somewhat striking resemblance to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tom-holland-link-in-netflix-zelda-series\/\">Tom Holland<\/a>, the actor currently\u00a0portraying\u00a0Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While his portrayal has been\u00a0met favorably by many, Holland&#8217;s &#8220;appearance&#8221;\u00a0in the\u00a0<em>Spider-Man\u00a0<\/em>remaster could be seen as annoying to those\u00a0fans who feel Peter Parker&#8217;s character model in the PS4 version felt rather unique to that game in particular.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IGN\/status\/1311357814896578561\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>For some fans, the decision to replace\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbr.com\/spider-man-ps4-yuri-lowenthal-encourages-masks\/\">Yuri Lowenthal<\/a>\u00a0with Ben Jordan as the motion and facial capture performer for the character is rather strange. While Lowenthal is still voicing the character, Insomniac went back and redid the facial capture using Jordan, due to issues with remastering the game for next-gen.<\/p>\n<p>No other characters have been redesigned, likely becuase no other character has Peter&#8217;s prominence, though it&#8217;s always possible that could change in the future. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/spider-man-remastered-doc-ock-peter-parker-ps5\/\">The remastered\u00a0<em>Spider-Man<\/em> footage showed the design of Doc Ock<\/a> to be the same as the previous version of the game. Though, until the game is officially released, there&#8217;s no way to know for sure if any other character models had to be revised due to issues with facial capture.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, it doesn&#8217;t really seem like the redesign will impact the overall experience of the game. For many fans, it would have been nice to have consistency in terms of character design across both versions of the game, it honestly seems like a minor issue comparatively.
