The trailer showcases\u00a0a returning activity, decorated Tower spaces, and many of the delightful goodies players will be able to earn.<\/p>\n<p>Festival of the Lost is <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/destiny-2\/\"><em>Destiny 2<\/em><\/a>&#8216;s annual Halloween event. It usually accompanies the launch of a major expansion, but since <em>Beyond Light<\/em> has been delayed significantly, Festival of the Lost 2020 will take place inside\u00a0<em>Season of Arrivals<\/em>. As a result of this unusual arrangement, the event will begin sooner than expected, on October 6, and conclude on November 3, a week before the new expansion goes live.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-content-vault-completion-catalysts-exotics-october-19\/\">October 19 Is a Very Important Day for Some Destiny 2 Completionists<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The premise\u00a0of the event\u00a0is that while the Tower celebrates the legacy of those lost in wars, Mercury&#8217;s Infinite Forest starts to hum with dark apparitions. Now dubbed <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-haunted-forest-festival-of-the-lost\/\">the Haunted Forest<\/a>, Guardians are sent to\u00a0sweep it clean of any nightmares, rewarding them with\u00a0cosmetics, triumphs, and gear. Veteran fans\u00a0will be familiar with how the event functions, but there could always be surprises that Bungie is hiding. The main attraction, the Haunted Forest, will once again be a timed and procedurally generated\u00a0mission. The more branches a team can clear within the allocated time, the better the rewards.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jUsz11L8b2k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Players will be able to unlock old and new masks based on their favorite characters which replace the helmet item when equipped. The two previously available weapons, Horror Story <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-braytech-auto-rifle-festival-lost\/\">and Braytech Werewolf<\/a>, will both make a comeback with brand new perks added to their random perk pools. Eververse will once again sell highly thematic cosmetics from emotes to the previously leaked folktale inspired armor sets.<\/p>\n<p>To some, these offerings may be disappointing\u00a0since\u00a0this song and dance is becoming quite familiar. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-shadowkeep-features-missing-perfect\/\">The year of <em>Shadowkeep<\/em><\/a> has clearly been an adjustment period for Bungie as a good portion of the content from the past year has been based on previous entries. On the bright side, <em>Beyond Light<\/em> seems like it will freshen the <em>Destiny<\/em> experience dramatically.\u00a0Even the\u00a0introduction of the Destiny Content Vault alone could be an indication that there will be less reused content in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Since\u00a0Halloween is taking place <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/destiny-2-weapons-you-need-season-of-arrivals\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">inside <em>Season of Arrivals<\/em><\/a>, the\u00a0event embraces the sinister atmosphere of the pyramid ships hanging over the Solar System.
