Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/em><\/strong> announced the Special Ops survival mode nearly a month after the game’s release in 2019. Despite the game being available\u00a0on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, the survival mode was a PlayStation exclusive. Because of contract with Sony, PlayStation was able to have Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/em><\/a>‘s survival mode as a timed-exclusive, but as of\u00a0October 1 an update has been released that enables survival mode for PC and Xbox One players.<\/p>\n

PS4 and Xbox One players have to download an additional compatibility pack to access the co-op mode, but then they will be able to team up with friends to take on waves of enemies. As Season 6 is just starting up in Modern Warfare<\/em> and Warzone<\/em>, players can earn XP and Battle Pass progression<\/a> in the newly-available survival mode on\u00a0PC and Xbox One.<\/p>\n

Special Ops survival mode was not the only PlayStation exclusive feature included in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/em>. PlayStation 4 players also had\u00a0exclusive weapon mission challenges, weapon blueprints, and Warzone<\/em> combat packs<\/a>. These challenges and rewards\u00a0were timed-exclusive content, and are now available for all platforms as well.<\/p>\n

Every new season of content has added at least one map for survival mode, with Modern Warfare<\/em> Season 5 adding the Crash map<\/a>, and the new Season 6 map being Hovec Sawmill. Nine maps are currently available for survival mode that\u00a0drastically range in size and layout, meaning players will have different strategies for each. Players may be able to run and gun on maps like Shoot House, while others like St. Petrograd may require long-range combat and careful positioning.<\/p>\n

While PC and Xbox players enjoy the new game mode, challenges, and rewards, Sony will have new\u00a0timed-exclusive content with the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em>. Before the game’s release, PlayStation players have gotten\u00a0exclusive access to the Black Ops Cold War<\/em> alpha<\/a>, and are able to play the upcoming beta a week before any other platform.<\/p>\n

Although PlayStation players received exclusive access to these builds, no other significant PlayStation exclusives for Black Ops Cold War<\/em> have been announced. Zombies mode has recently been confirmed for Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/a>, and it will be available for both PC and Xbox players\u00a0as well. Zombies will launch alongside Black Ops Cold War<\/em>, so PlayStation players will be able to try it alongside\u00a0other platforms this November.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.<\/p>\n
