Call of Duty Mobile<\/strong><\/em> has a large\u00a0playerbase, but the amount of time those players are spending with the game is apparently enormous. A new report says\u00a0Call of Duty Mobile<\/em><\/a> players have reached one billion hours played monthly at the game’s peak activity.<\/p>\n

Such a milestone would be impressive if it were to occur across a game\u2019s entire lifespan, so\u00a0CoD Mobile<\/em> reaching those numbers in only one month shows just how successful the game has been for Activision. With a content-filled Call of Duty Mobile<\/em>\u00a0Season 11 recently having its details leaked,<\/a> the game’s\u00a0playerbase is likely to grow larger with time. The game started off strong\u00a0according to analytical firm App Annie,\u00a0with CoD Mobile<\/em> reaching 100 million downloads nearly as fast as Pokemon GO,<\/em>\u00a0but much faster than both PUBG<\/i> and Fortnite<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty Mobile<\/em> is not the only\u00a0game in its series to pass milestones recently, as the alpha for Black Ops Cold War<\/em> broke records<\/a> of its own as the most-downloaded PS4 alpha or beta in series history.\u00a0App Annie highlights that the game has been installed 250 million times since launch, and suggests\u00a0the 46 million players who have pre-registered in China were a large contributor to\u00a0the hours played. The series’ large console audience also helped raise interest in the game. App Annie said the game ranked #1 in downloads for core mobile games in the US as well, with Android phones being the primary source of players.<\/p>\n

Activision Vice President of Mobile Chris Plummer told\u00a0App Annie, \u201cWe\u2019ve committed ourselves to constantly bringing fresh new content\u201d and that \u201cwe\u2019re only getting started.\u201d The comments regarding new content are certainly believable given the recent teases for Season 11. With the anniversary of CoD Mobile<\/em> included in the next season of content, players can expect a new scorestreak<\/a> and additional maps for the popular mobile game.<\/p>\n

Season 11 in\u00a0Call of Duty Mobile<\/em> will also include new weapons. The season 11 weapons coming to CoD Mobile<\/em><\/a> will come from multiple different categories according to the game\u2019s developers, meaning that players will have a few different kinds of guns to try out when the update arrives. Players unlocking all attachments for the new weapons should only add to the number of hours seen for CoD Mobile<\/em> thus far.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty<\/em> has clearly proved to be a success on mobile platforms, as one billion hours played in a single month is an impressive achievement. With leaks suggesting\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>\u00a0might\u00a0coming to mobile<\/a> devices soon, even more records could\u00a0be broken by the\u00a0franchise.<\/p>\n
