Spider-Man: Miles Morales<\/em><\/strong> is easily one of the most anticipated PS5 launch games. Sony used it to build hype early in its PlayStation 5 reveal presentation<\/a> back in June, and the sequel\u2019s popularity has only grown since. The original Spider-Man<\/em> on PS4 was one of the standouts of the generation, bringing players a fun take on the web-slinger with the same care and spirit as the Batman Arkham<\/em> games, but without all the grit.<\/p>\n

Recently, it was announced that two versions of Miles Morales<\/em> would be coming out on November 12, the standard and ultimate editions. Fans of the original Spider-Man<\/em> will now\u00a0have the option of grabbing a next-gen copy of the game bundled with the new Spider-Man: Miles Morales<\/em><\/a>. But with the announcement that Miles Morales<\/em> would also be available on PS4, many players may be wondering whether the next-gen version of either game is worth it. However, there are a few good reasons why the Ultimate Edition is a hot deal.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no secret that next-gen games are going to cost more than the average PS4 or Xbox One game<\/a>. With most PS5 launch games clocking in at around $70 each, this higher price point is likely to stick around well into the PS5\u2019s lifespan. Currently, players can pre-order Spider-Man: Miles Morales<\/em> for $49.99 which will give them the new game with some extra digital bonuses. For $69.99, the Spider-Man: Miles Morales <\/em>Ultimate Edition gives players access to both the sequel and the original Spider-Man<\/em> which has been completely remastered for the PS5.<\/p>\n

With only a $20 price difference between the two Miles Morales<\/em> editions<\/a>, the Ultimate Edition is definitely a bargain. Players are basically getting a new PS5 game for $20, and with the average price of PS5 games rising, this is probably the best deal on the market. Currently, Spider-Man<\/em> on PS4 still retails for around $30, so it is arguably even cheaper to buy the game as a next-gen remaster.<\/p>\n

Another thing that makes the Ultimate Edition of Miles Morales<\/em> a great option is the extra amount of gameplay time it provides. Some players were disappointed to learn that Miles Morales<\/em>\u00a0might be shorter in length<\/a> than the previous Spider-Man<\/em> game, with some estimates claiming it will be similar to Uncharted: Lost Legacy<\/em>, clocking in at around 10 hours. To compare, Spider-Man<\/em> on PS4 takes an average of 20 hours to complete, roughly double what Miles Morales<\/em> is expected to be. So the Miles Morales<\/em> Ultimate Edition basically gives gamers double the play time for only $20 more. Not to mention, now is the perfect time to replay the original Spider-Man<\/em> in preparation for the sequel, so the Ultimate Edition will allow players to experience the whole story entirely on next-gen.<\/p>\n

Unlike some games which will simply be playable on the PS5 at launch with backward compatibility, like\u00a0Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>, Marvel\u2019s Spider-Man<\/em> has been revamped with next-gen features<\/a>. The game will be remastered to utilize ray tracing, instant loading, 60fps and DualSense controller features such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. While many upcoming games will be gaining free next-gen upgrades, Spider-Man<\/em> will have all the best features right out of the gate.<\/p>\n

Spider-Man<\/em> will also be one of the easiest comparisons between the PS4 and PS5\u2019s technology and will be great chance for players to feel the generational difference in a well-loved game.\u00a0Of course, players will still have the option of playing Miles Morales<\/em> on PS4<\/a> if they choose, but for those who have been eagerly awaiting the next generation, Spider-Man<\/em> is one of the best franchises to test it out. And for only an extra $20, the\u00a0Spider-Man: Miles Morales<\/em> Ultimate Edition is definitely a great pick for gamers looking for\u00a0a kickstart to the next generation of gaming.<\/p>\n
