This game laid the foundation for every subsequent\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/far-cry\/\">Far Cry<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>game, and has since achieved a cult classic status among many in the gaming community. Now Greg Russo, lead screenwriter behind the upcoming film\u00a0revival of\u00a0<em>Mortal Kombat,\u00a0<\/em>has expressed an interest in taking on a live-action adaptation of\u00a0<em>Far Cry 3<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-kombat-movie-never-look-better\/\">Russo has talked up the <em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> film<\/a> quite a bit on Twitter, and promises to bring all of the best elements of the franchise together into one solid experience. While there has yet to be any sort of trailer or promotional material, a number of fans are excited about the upcoming project.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/far-cry-villains-fc6-anton-vs-fc3-vaas\/\">Comparing Far Cry 6&#8217;s Anton to Far Cry 3&#8217;s Vaas<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When asked on Twitter if he\u00a0had an\u00a0interest in adapting anything from Ubisoft&#8217;s acclaimed\u00a0<em>Far Cry\u00a0<\/em>series, Russo immediately responded with\u00a0<em>Far Cry 3<\/em>, citing it as one of the best games ever made. Russo directed his interest at Ubisoft on Twitter, and considering a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-tv-series\/\">TV series based on\u00a0<em>Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon<\/em><\/a> is currently in the works, a movie adaptation in the same universe may not be too far out of the realm of possibility.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WriterRusso\/status\/1311470452095688704\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In addition to adapting the game into a movie, Russo also expressed interest in bringing back <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/far-cry-6-vaas-michael-mando\/\">Michael Mando to reprise his roll as Vaas Montenegro<\/a>, considered one of the most iconic antagonists in\u00a0<em>Far Cry\u00a0<\/em>history. Nothing is confirmed or in development, this was simply Russo expressing an interest in\u00a0doing a film based on\u00a0<em>Far Cry 3<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Far Cry 3\u00a0<\/em>has the potential to make an excellent film, given the game possesses numerous cinematic and atmospheric elements that make it memorable to many who have played it. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/far-cry-3-anniversary\/\">The eighth anniversary of <em>Far Cry 3&#8217;s<\/em> release<\/a>\u00a0is in a little over a month, and even after two more entries have come out\u00a0there are many that love the game and would likely be interested in\u00a0seeing it adapted into a film.<\/p>\n<p>Again, nothing is confirmed and this is little more than a hypothetical exercise. That being said, many fans of the series would likely enjoy a <em>Far Cry 3\u00a0<\/em>film that featured Michael Mando returning as\u00a0Vaas.
