Destiny 2<\/strong><\/em> is built on a foundation of engaging gameplay and collecting\u00a0loot, and for many players the loot is its\u00a0biggest draw. Earning a new Exotic is a thrill for many, and players still want certain Exotics from the original\u00a0Destiny<\/em> to be re-introduced<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In most cases,\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em> Exotics are all about form over function. After all, a piece of gear is supposed to power up a character\u00a0more than it exists to\u00a0be a fashion accessory. However, the graphic designers for\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em><\/a> seldom skimp on how Exotics look, with several weapons bearing intricate designs and add-ons to give them a distinct look and feel. The same is true for armor pieces, including the Doom Fang Pauldron.<\/p>\n

Despite the shifting nature of\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em>, which includes a constant barrage of new content, some equipment makes a big impression. This could be for its\u00a0power, design, or the mission that results in its acquisition. One player was so impressed with the Ruinous Effigy that they created a wooden replica<\/a>. While the Doom Fang Pauldron does not have a unique gameplay aspect, one player going by u\/JarekoLT on Reddit created a concept for an entire Doom Fang armor set.<\/p>\n

The “fangs” of the pauldron are present throughout the concept art,\u00a0growing from the legs and feet, as well as every crack and crease of the armor \u2014 most notable from\u00a0the chest and helmet. Other\u00a0Destiny 2\u00a0<\/em>players have congratulated JarekoLT on the design, which is one of several they have created. For\u00a0a game\u00a0that already has tributes to its former developers<\/a>, it’s nice\u00a0to see a\u00a0positive response to fan creations as well.<\/p>\n

While most reactions to the armor concept are\u00a0positive, many comments\u00a0lament the lack of a real version\u00a0in-game. Players have wondered why Bungie does not pursue this concept in actuality, suggesting\u00a0it may\u00a0be a big hit.\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em> players are seemingly always hunting\u00a0for new gear, so it could\u00a0make sense to create themed armor sets to collect. The mention of the Gjallerhorn’s return in a fake leak got players incensed<\/a>, so\u00a0exotic armor sets would likely get\u00a0them hyped.<\/p>\n

One observation that was very common about JarekoLT’s Doom Fang armor is\u00a0that it\u00a0resembles\u00a0Monster Hunter<\/em> armor. The comparison does make sense, as the fangs and sharp angles make it look like something which could be made from\u00a0Monster Hunter Rise<\/em>‘s new creature, the Magnamalo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Destiny 2<\/strong><\/em> is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development.<\/p>\n
