With that popularity has come many fans designing their own characters, maps, and even custom Imposter kills.<\/p>\n<p>In each round of <em>Among Us<\/em>, players are split into crew members and Imposters, the latter asked to complete tasks around the map before they are all potentially killed by their masquerading enemies. YouTube creator Landonardo uploaded two videos last week depicting <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-anime-finishers-video\/\">animated\u00a0<em>Among Us<\/em> kills based on iconic anime moves<\/a>, including the Kamehameha from <em>Dragon Ball<\/em> and summoning Dark Magician from <em>Yu-Gi-Oh!.\u00a0<\/em>Today, they came back with another set based on video games.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-custom-map-maker\/\">Among Us Devs Reveal Early Idea for A Custom Map Maker<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A number of titles are shown off in the minute-long video, including\u00a0an Imposter dressed like\u00a0Yoshi who turns the crew member into an egg,\u00a0one who builds a <em>Fortnite<\/em>-style wall to snipe from, and a particularly heartfelt\u00a0bit replicating Aerith&#8217;s death from <em>Final Fantasy 7<\/em>.\u00a0There is also a kill based on blocky <em>Minecraft<\/em> characters, which feels fitting given <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/super-smash-bros-ultimate-steve-minecraft-moveset\/\"><em>Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> just announced Minecraft Steve<\/a> as its next DLC fighter.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mRYSV9V5D8s?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Imposters in <em>Among Us<\/em>\u00a0can shapeshift into different alien forms\u00a0to kill players, similar to the parasitic beings in John Carpenter&#8217;s <em>The Thing<\/em> (1982), so the possibilities for how many animations could be added into the game are theoretically limitless. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-2-canceled\/\">InnerSloth decided to cancel <em>Among Us 2<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in favor of simply improving the game it already has, and it could be fun to see the developer take a page from\u00a0Landonardo&#8217;s book by slipping in references to pop culture iconography along the way.<\/p>\n<p><em>Among Us<\/em>&#8216; popularity has extended into social media as well, with fans widely sharing creations like tabletop adaptations of the game online. Many have taken to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/among-us-roleplay-exists\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">creating their own <em>Among Us<\/em> &#8220;Crewsonas&#8221;<\/a> based on the way players are able to customize their little bean-shaped astronaut characters with different hats, clothing, and pets.<\/p>\n<p>Any game that becomes\u00a0as huge\u00a0as <em>Among Us<\/em> as quickly as it did is also subject to growing pains. Some players have <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-cheater-problem\/\">complained about an influx of cheaters in <em>Among Us<\/em><\/a>, which seems like something the developers will want to address as they flesh out the game with extra content like death animations.
