Now, director Christopher\u00a0McQuarrie has taken to his official Instagram account to share a behind-the-scenes image of Cruise filming an action scene set on top of a speeding train for the seventh installment of the franchise.<\/p>\n<p>Production on <em>Mission: Impossible 7<\/em>\u00a0was\u00a0scheduled to begin in Venice on February 20, 2020, before moving to Rome. However, the COVID-19 pandemic prompted\u00a0the\u00a0local government to ban public gatherings, requiring <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/mission-impossible-7-stops-filming-italy-coronavirus\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paramount to postpone the start of production<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/godfather-tv-series-cbs-all-access-paramount-plus\/\">&#8216;Godfather&#8217; TV Series Coming, but It&#8217;s Not About the Corleone Family<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Production on <em>Mission: Impossible<\/em> is currently underway in Norway and the Cinephilia &amp; Beyond Twitter account has posted footage of Tom Cruise sitting comfortably on top of a speeding train while working on the film. The footage was taken from a cell phone owned by a passenger onboard a nearby train and shows Cruise waving to the travelers, seemingly in between takes. In the aforementioned Instagram post from McQuarrie, the director thanked everyone involved in\u00a0filming the sequence\u00a0saying, &#8220;Norway\u2019s scale and beauty have left an indelible and defining imprint on our film and reminded us that anything is possible.&#8221; The filmmaker then noted that will soon move to Rome.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LaFamiliaFilm\/status\/1312846995963490305\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CF6vx0ADlig\/\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mission-impossible-7-8-delay-coronavirus\/\"><em>Mission: Impossible 7<\/em> and <em>8<\/em> are being filmed back-to-back<\/a> with Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, and Henry Czerny reprising their roles from previous entries in the franchise. Newcomers to the cast include Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Shea Whigham in undisclosed roles. <em>X-Men<\/em> star Nicholas Hoult was originally cast as the villain of <em>Mission: Impossible 7<\/em> before scheduling conflicts\u00a0led to <em>Titans<\/em> star Esai Morales\u00a0taking over the role.<\/p>\n<p>The pandemic isn&#8217;t the only setback to plague to cast and crew of the next <em>Mission: Impossible<\/em> film. Production had to be shut down in the summer after <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mission-impossible-7-accident-stunt\/\">a motorcycle stunt resulted in a fire<\/a>, though no one was injured in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>After completing work on <em>Mission: Impossible<\/em>, Tom Cruise plans to step up his stunt game by <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tom-cruise-nasa-space-movie\/\">filming an action movie in outer space<\/a>.
