The <em>Age of Calamity<\/em> showcase began with gameplay of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity-urbosa-gerudo-town\/\">Champion Urbosa battling the Yiga Clan in Gerudo Town<\/a>, but\u00a0went on to feature other parts of the game such as training missions where Link can spar against the other\u00a0Champions of Hyrule.<\/p>\n<p>Once the presenters transition out of Urbosa&#8217;s mission, fans got a look at the world map in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity\/\"><em>Age of Calamity<\/em><\/a> that carries over from its chronological sequel <em>Breath of the Wild<\/em>. On this map, players can select various missions across Hyrule, and an\u00a0example chosen for this Treehouse Live is a training mission for Link using two-handed weapons. Before entering a\u00a0match, players will be able to choose what weapon and outfit they want to equip.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity-sheikah-researchers-robbie-purah\/\">Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity Reveals Young Sheikah Researchers Robbie and Purah<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Over the course of the five-minute mission, Link must defeat 400 Hylian soldiers around Lon Lon Ranch, and\u00a0once he\u00a0hits that threshold\u00a0the Goron Champion Daruk arrives\u00a0to give him more of a challenge. It makes sense for the Goron\u00a0to appear given <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity-screenshots-goron-champion-daruk\/\">Daruk specializes in combat with two-handed weapons<\/a>, and the idea of everyone helping one another train will likely contribute to greater world building.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OPko85hf0f0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Aspects of the stage select system\u00a0build off of information from\u00a0the game&#8217;s\u00a0showcase at Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2020, where\u00a0it was announced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity-playable-young-impa\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Impa will be a playable character in <em>Age of Calamity<\/em><\/a>. During TGS, players were shown a clip in which one of the Sheikah Towers from <em>Breath of the Wild<\/em> rose out of the ground mid-battle. It was confirmed these towers will serve as a base for Link while\u00a0players choose where to go next in today&#8217;s Treehouse Live.<\/p>\n<p>More details about the <em>Dynasty Warriors<\/em> and <em>Legend of Zelda<\/em>\u00a0crossover were revealed throughout the event, but many fans were excited to hear that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hyrule-warriors-age-of-calamity-weapon-durability\/\"><em>Age of Calamity<\/em> will not have weapon durability like <em>Breath of the Wild<\/em><\/a>. The shift to hack-and-slash gameplay may be divisive for some who are not already fans of the genre, but\u00a0having the opportunity to see characters like the Champions interact more should pull players in.<\/p>\n<p>Before diving into <em>Age of Calamity<\/em>, the Treehouse Live event gave an in-depth look into various game modes included in <em>Pikmin 3 Deluxe<\/em>.
