The PlayStation 2 had some of the best first-person games<\/a> available at the time. Some fans of these games might want a remaster<\/a> in order to get updated graphics and controls, but part of the charm is the old style. Just look at GoldenEye;<\/em>\u00a0the graphics are dated, but it is still one of the most loved games available.<\/p>\n

Players are sure to have treasured memories playing a few PlayStation 2 games with their friends or even online<\/a>. When these games are loaded up, players are sure to ignore the dated graphics and enjoy the game for the memories and endless fun they provide.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Call Of Duty: Big Red One<\/h2>\n

Big Red One\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2005 for the PlayStation as a spin-off for\u00a0Call of Duty 2<\/a>.<\/em> It puts players in World War II, fighting with the 1st Infantry Division. Players fight from Africa to the boarders of Germany, fighting through a good bit of the war.<\/p>\n

While the graphics definitely are not the best\u00a0\u2014 just look at the faces of characters\u00a0\u2014 it was a fun addition to the series. Fighting through Italy, Normandy, and Germany gave players a whole lot of fun.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun<\/h2>\n

Medal of Honor: Rising Sun\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2003 and takes players to the Pacific Theatre of World War II. Players most likely remember it because of the iconic first mission, taking place during the attack of Pearl Harbor. The rest of the game took players through the Pacific, where the protagonist joins OSS.<\/p>\n

Rising Sun<\/em> also had multiplayer, allowing the player and three others to battle each other. There was also a co-op option, letting players go through the campaign along with a friend.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Killzone<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The first\u00a0Killzone\u00a0<\/em>came out in 2004 and brings players to the fictional planet of Vekta. The player fights against an enemy faction, called the Helghans, in order to defend the planet.<\/p>\n

It is also nice to replay the game that spawned the\u00a0Killzone\u00a0<\/em>series. For any player that might want to play the game with updated graphics,\u00a0Killzone\u00a0<\/em>was remastered for the PlayStation 3 in 2012.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>007 Nightfire<\/h2>\n

007 Nightfire\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2002 and follows James Bond as he uncovers a plot to take over the world. The game has players snipe from a helicopter in Paris, infiltrate a castle in Austria, and take down an industrialist bent on world domination.\u00a0Nightfire\u00a0<\/em>also has multiplayer that includes characters and levels from a few\u00a0James Bond\u00a0<\/em>movies.<\/p>\n

The multiplayer maps range from Fort Knox to Atlantis. The characters to choose from include Jaws, Baron Samedi, and Goldfinger. With local multiplayer, players can play against their friends in all of these locations.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Battlefield 2 Modern Combat<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Modern Combat\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2005 and acts as an expansion for\u00a0Battlefield 2.<\/em> It has a singleplayer campaign, pitting the United States against China in a war that takes place in Kazakhstan. There is also a multiplayer mode, allowing 24 players to fight against each other.<\/p>\n

Modern Combat\u00a0<\/em>has two different game modes\u00a0\u2014 Conquest or Capture the Flag. The multiplayer mode was announced to be shutting down in 2010, but the campaign mode is still available for players to enjoy.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Half-Life<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Half-Life\u00a0<\/em>is a game from Valve<\/a> that was released in 2001 for the PlayStation. It follows Gordon Freeman as he takes part in an experiment that allows aliens to invade the earth. Players fight through Black Mesa and make their way to Xen, where they defeat the mastermind of the invasion.<\/p>\n

The game also came with\u00a0Decay,\u00a0<\/em>which allows the player to play through a new co-op story. There was also a secret alien mode, where players could play as Vortigaunts as they travel through Black Mesa.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Return To Castle Wolfenstein<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Return to Castle Wolfenstein\u00a0<\/em>was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2003. It follows William Blazkowicz as he investigates the SS Paranormal Division. The PlayStation 2 version is unique, as it contains a prequel level that takes place in Egypt. The game allows players to fight through the occult to stop the Nazis from becoming more powerful.<\/p>\n

There is also a multiplayer mode, allowing players to play either as the Axis or the Allies. It has the Allies try to complete an objective, with the Axis defending against the attacking side. There are three game modes for players\u00a0\u2014 objective, stopwatch, and checkpoint.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Star Wars Battlefront<\/h2>\n

Star Wars Battlefront\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2004 and allows players to play in either first-person or third-person.\u00a0Players can play as Separatists, Rebels, Clones, or Stormtroopers as they fight through levels that are familiar to any\u00a0Star Wars\u00a0<\/em>fan. Players can play Instant Action mode, playing whichever map they want in whatever order.<\/p>\n

Playing split screen with friends is most likely a memory all gamers have with this game. Going against friends in Galactic Conquest to take over the galaxy was sure to make some fun memories, as well as some angry moments.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Medal Of Honor: Frontline<\/h2>\n

Frontline\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2002 and starts with the player landing on Omaha Beach during D-Day. Afterwards, the protagonist, James Patterson, joins the OSS and takes part in missions across Europe. The final mission has the player kill the antagonist and steal a Nazi prototype for a plane.<\/p>\n

Players are able to obtain medals are each mission, depending on how much health they lost, their accuracy, and the amount of kills they got. It was a fun incentive to go back and try to do better. Players who bought\u00a0Medal of Honor<\/em> got a HD port of\u00a0Frontline,\u00a0<\/em>allowing players to play an updated version of the game.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Call Of Duty: Finest Hour<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Finest Hour\u00a0<\/em>was released in 2004 and acts as an expansion to the original\u00a0Call of Duty.<\/em> It starts off with the Soviet campaign, going through Stalingrad. It also features the British, fighting in Africa, and Americans, fighting into Germany. There was also a multiplayer mode, allowing up to 16 players.<\/p>\n

A fun fact is the singer for AC\/DC, Brian Johnson, voiced one of the commandos in the British campaign. There were also numerous missions where the player was a tanker, allowing them to fight against enemies while controlling a tank.<\/p>\n
