On the one hand, it&#8217;s not that surprising of a stance, given that other high-profile movies like <em>Tenet<\/em> are sticking to their theater guns, so to speak. What makes it curious, however, are comments Jenkins made about the future of movie theaters.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sofia-vergara-highest-paid-actress-in-the-world-modern-family\/\">Sofia Vergara is the Highest Paid Actress in the World<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The way Jenkins sees it, movie theaters are at crucial crossroads, where shutdowns could hurt theaters so much that the movie industry could experience a shift similar to what was seen in music many years ago, with digital distribution\u00a0 rendering traditional distribution unprofitable. She hopes that Wonder Woman 1984 will lure moviegoers back to the theater,\u00a0helping to delay or even prevent the demise of the theater experience.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PattyJenks\/status\/1314018081174245376?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s fair to say Jenkins has been pretty vocal about her concerns, joining the multitude of directors, producers and writers who have started a plea to the U.S. Congress for a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/american-movie-theaters-need-a-federal-bailout-covid-pandemic\/\">federal bailout that can help theaters survive<\/a> the losses that continue to pile on due to shutdowns and plummeting stock prices in the sector. She also has her fair share of doubts about how an eventual shift to streaming might\u00a0hit big budget films like the <em>Wonder Woman<\/em> series she&#8217;s become synonymous with.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps, Jenkins makes the best case for this by highlighting theaters importance in regular life, saying, \u201cI don\u2019t think any of us want to live in a world where the only option is to take your kids to watch a movie in your own living room\u2026 and not have a place to go for a date\u201d.
