With Bungie preparing some big changes for\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em><\/strong> as weapons, planets, and activities begin the process of sunsetting when the upcoming\u00a0Beyond Light<\/em> expansion releases. One of these changes surrounds raids like\u00a0The Last Wish<\/em><\/a> and how the gear that will drop as a reward for completing these activities will be getting altered specifically, make raiding more rewarding.<\/p>\n

Recently announced in Bungie’s weekly “This Week at Bungie” blog, the developer has recently given players one of the most detailed looks at how the smaller aspects of\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em><\/a> will be changing in\u00a0Beyond Light<\/em> so far. Covering topics like how the upcoming expansion will alter the experience for new players, one key new detail that stood out specifically, is the change coming to raid armor mods.<\/p>\n

The new change coming to\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em> is that\u00a0any new raid armor gained after\u00a0Beyond Light<\/em> launches will include a fifth raid-specific mod slot that older and non-raid gear won’t include. According to Bungie, the intention behind this change is to make raid-specific loot in\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em><\/a> more rewarding for players who participate in these endgame activities, by giving bonuses specifically for the raids. However, the mods that will be going into these slots, which are already available for these activities, will also be changing, with many having specific uses and others being deprecated.<\/p>\n

The deprecating of these mods simply means that the strength of the mods, specifically the ones that increase damage against certain enemies, like anti-fallen or anti-hive, will be dropping. Additionally, these mods will also be specific to each raid, meaning that a\u00a0The Last Wish<\/em> mods won’t have any additional effect in\u00a0Garden of Salvation<\/em> or the upcoming raid coming with\u00a0Beyond Light<\/em>. Overall, these changes will be making farming\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em>‘s raids<\/a> into a much more rewarding experience, as each run should theoretically become more manageable as players continue to earn the new armors.<\/p>\n

With the launch of the\u00a0Beyond Light<\/em> expansion preparing to be one of the best times to start playing\u00a0Destiny 2<\/em><\/a>, these new changes coming to the game are likely to continue to improve the experience. The raids are already one of the best received aspects of Bungie’s latest series, so making sure that these activities are more rewarding is clearly a step in the right direction for veteran players. So, while this might require players to head into raids and hunt down duplicates of armor they already have, the\u00a0new loot pools will make old and new activities much more rewarding as a result.<\/p>\n
