For Honor<\/em><\/strong> is one\u00a0of several\u00a0games that will be ported over\u00a0from current-generation consoles to the next-generation of consoles this upcoming fall. Some games are making the transfer over, while some games\u00a0are remastered like\u00a0Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered<\/em><\/a>\u00a0for the PS5. Recently,\u00a0For Honor’s<\/em><\/a> developer,<\/em> Ubisoft Montreal, provided\u00a0more details\u00a0about\u00a0transferring over to the next-generation consoles and the\u00a0extra benefits the team is adding to the transition.<\/p>\n

Well after its release, For Honor<\/em> has been well-supported by the developer team at\u00a0Ubisoft Montreal, evidenced with\u00a0For Honor<\/em>‘s latest\u00a0season\u00a0four update<\/a>. Now Ubisoft Montreal reveals that the game will have next-generation compatibility when\u00a0the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles are released to the public. Not only that, but the game will have all player inventory and progress transfer to the new consoles so players don’t lose their content when switching over to next-gen.<\/p>\n

The developer stated that For Honor<\/em> will be made playable for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X, and will have\u00a0a number of graphical enhancements and save transfers as well. The graphical enhancements mainly include improvements to water reflections, distance level of detail, shadows, texture filtering, and 4K resolution for the next-generation of systems. Ubisoft Montreal\u00a0assures current\u00a0For Honor<\/em> players will have their purchases and inventory seamlessly transferred over to the new consoles for free. This is an important reveal since not all PS4 saves will transfer<\/a> for some games as they upgrade to the next-gen versions, forcing players to start all over again.<\/p>\n

That key\u00a0feature will\u00a0certainly help ease players into the new\u00a0version of the game, since they can pick up right where they left off once they have either of the new console.\u00a0On top of all that, the game will be playable\u00a0at 60 frames-per-second on all\u00a0new consoles at the start of Year 4 Season 4 (Y4S4) early next December. Having the game run at 4K and 60 fps<\/a>\u00a0definitely falls in line with how\u00a0most\u00a0upcoming PS5 games are made.\u00a0The developer recommends players to stay tuned for more details to be released on future updates for the game as the new consoles roll out.<\/p>\n

For Honor’s<\/em> next-gen upgrade<\/a> and free transfers are a positive benefit to the game, and this\u00a0puts it ahead of others when the next-gen consoles come out. Thanks to the reveal of this\u00a0new information, players don’t\u00a0have to worry about starting from scratch\u00a0when the new version of the game\u00a0arrives for the\u00a0next-generation right around the corner. Whether the transition itself is as seamless as the developer claims will be determined when the\u00a0PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are released.<\/p>\n
