If you’ve purchased FIFA 21 on current-gen consoles and are planning to pump tons of hours into Career Mode,\u00a0Pro Clubs, Online Seasons, and Co-Op Seasons,\u00a0be forewarned: your saves won’t transfer to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\/S.<\/p>\n

In response to Eurogamer’s questions<\/a> about the reasons behind this decision, FIFA Executive Producer Aaron McHardy stated that the team chose to focus on cross-generation improvements\u00a0rather than enabling transferable saves for all of the game modes: “We decided that the time required to make all modes transferable was better used to build new features and improvements across the entire game, along with addressing feedback from our players.” McHardy would go on to explain that server-based modes like\u00a0Volta and Ultimate Team will transfer over instead.\u00a0<\/p>\n
