These improbable heroes, consisting of different beings form fantasy lore, are forced to fight alongside each other in an effort to cancel the apocalypse. The trailer showcases a bevy of fantasy action and debauchery, all set to a punk rock soundtrack.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/discworld-movies-tv\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Discworld Book Series Getting Adaptations<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ymQMJDmhu70?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>The Watch<\/em> is based on the book\u00a0<em>City Watch<\/em> from the\u00a0<em>Discworld <\/em>Collection. \u00a0The panel reveals a high-caliber and diverse casting for the show which includes <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/game-of-thrones-prequel-house-of-the-dragon-paddy-considine\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">alumni from\u00a0<em>Game Of Thrones<\/em><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Wire<\/em>. Richard Domer leads the\u00a0City Watch as Captain Sam Vimes. He is accompanied by a selection of characters which includes\u00a0Jo Eaton-Kent (<em>The Romanoffs)\u00a0<\/em>Adam Hugill (<em>Pennyworth)\u00a0<\/em>Lara Rossi (<em>Robin Hood)\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Marama Corlett (<em>His Dark Materials).\u00a0 <\/em>Two new cast members were announced during the panel<em>.\u00a0<\/em>Paul Kaye stars opposite of Richard Dormer as Indigo Skimmer and Ralph Ineson (<em>The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance)<\/em>\u00a0is the rock troll, Sergeant Detritus. Producers\u00a0 Simon Allen (<em>The Musketeers<\/em>) and Richard Stokes (<em>Broadchurch<\/em>) took part in the panel as well, revealing that\u00a0<em>City Watch<\/em>\u00a0takes the best parts of the entire\u00a0<em>Discworld <\/em>series, and in a way, invents its own series within the world of\u00a0<em>Discworld.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The Watch<\/em> has been somewhat controversial during its production. Discworld fans are extremely passionate, and have not been shy about voicing their concerns that the show veers too far from its inspiration. Of course, fans of book series usually are skeptical of adaptations, and are often proved wrong.
