With the game closer to release, players are getting a look at a couple of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-ps4-beta-maps-modes\/\">new maps and game modes in the <em>Black Ops\u00a0Cold War<\/em> Beta<\/a>. While many think the game looks good, popular streamer Dr Disrespect has joined the growing list of folks not happy with its skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) system.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main sticking points for a number of big names in the <em>Call of Duty<\/em> community has been the SBMM\u00a0system found in its\u00a0multiplayer modes. The system pits players of similar skill level together in a lobby, which in theory sounds good, but many wish it would\u00a0be limited to ranked play. The possibility of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-ranked-play\/\">Ranked Play coming to <em>Black Ops\u00a0Cold War<\/em><\/a> has been floated by Treyarch lead designer David Vonderhaar, which would allow for a casual mode to exist that would incorporate players of all skill levels.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dr-disrespect-call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-dead-silence\/\">Dr Disrespect Thinks Black Ops Cold War Should Include Fan-Favorite Perk<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While fan discontent has led to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-black-ops-cold-war-beta-skill-based-matchmaking-sbmm\/\">SBMM trending on Twitter this weekend<\/a>, Dr Disrespect took to his stream on Friday to protest the system by reverse boosting at the start of his session in <em>Black Ops Cold War<\/em>. Reverse boosting is an exploit to game a skill-based matchmaking system by intentionally dying in a match, that way a player will be\u00a0paired with lower-skill lobbies\u00a0in future matches.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0tMjiCD4cG4?start=2870&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Using his stream to highlight how the practice works, Dr Disrespect started his <em>Black Ops Cold War<\/em> session by acting as target practice for his competition, with many fans wondering why the self-proclaimed &#8220;Two-Time Champion&#8221; wasn&#8217;t playing up to his normal standard. He explained that he was tanking on purpose to game the SBMM system.<\/p>\n<p>The Doc attracts a\u00a0fair share of attention with his in-character antics, but this was one\u00a0case where\u00a0the popular streamer was using his platform to protest a system that has seen many complaints online. While the jury is still out on why <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dr-disrespect-twitch-ban-why-controversy-future\/\">Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year, intentionally reverse boosting in <em>Black Ops Cold War<\/em> to show how broken SBMM probably\u00a0shouldn&#8217;t lead to any more problems.<\/p>\n<p>All of this pressure applied by streamers and <em>Call of Duty<\/em> pros might be having an effect on the game, as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/cod-black-ops-cold-war-developer-listen-community-feedback\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">patch notes for the <em>Black Ops\u00a0Cold War<\/em> Beta<\/a> address almost all issues players had with the Alpha.
