Helped in no small part by many of <em>Pixar&#8217;s<\/em> titles, such as <em>The Incredibles, Cars,<\/em> and <em>Toy Story<\/em> being ideally suited for the video game treatment. Although many of these games have fit into the negative stereotypes that follow movie tie-in games, there have been a few diamonds in the rough.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>Wall-E (67)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Wall-E-Video-Game.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The <em>Wall-E<\/em> video game is a prime example of the phrase Jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Although it is <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/snes-best-platformers-not-mario\/\">categorized as a platformer<\/a>, the game also features racing, flying, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-combat-systems-rpgs-ranked\/\">combat sections<\/a> that have players controlling either <em>Wall-E<\/em> or EVE.<\/p>\n<p>This variety in gameplay may sound appealing on paper. However, none of the gameplay styles are particularly engaging and players will likely become disillusioned with the game after just a few hours.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this,<em> Wall-E<\/em> is still a decent game that will just about satisfy fans of the film.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer (67)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/The-Incredibles-Rise-of-the-Underminer-game.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Developers Heavy Iron Studios clearly had fan-service\u00a0in mind when making <em>Rise of the Underminer. <\/em>Not only did the game&#8217;s story focus on the cliffhanger at the end of the first <em>The Incredibles<\/em> film. But they also let player&#8217;s control fan-favorite character, Samuel L Jackson&#8217;s Frozone.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas the first <em>The Incredibles<\/em> game had several gameplay styles befitting the superhero family&#8217;s various abilities.\u00a0<em>Rise of the Underminer<\/em> was\u00a0almost entirely an action game. With playable characters Mr. Incredible and Frozone each having separate skills, players could either switch between them or have a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xbox-game-pass-fan-favorite-multiplayer-titles\/\">friend join the action in co-op<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">8 <\/span>Kinect Rush: A Disney\/Pixar Adventure (68)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Kinect-Rush.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Kinect Rush: A Disney\/Pixar Adventure<\/em> takes players into the world of five of Pixar&#8217;s most iconic movies. <em>Cars, The Incredibles, Toy Story, Ratatouille, <\/em>and<em> UP. <\/em>Despite this impressive lineup, Kinect Rush was available at launch for as little as $19.99.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/disney-games-need-remakes\/\">10 Classic Disney Games That Need A Remake ASAP<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As the price-tag suggests, players won&#8217;t be delving too deep into these games.\u00a0Furthermore, the gameplay is very simplistic, even for the Kinect. Solidifying the game&#8217;s target audience as being the youngest of gamers.<\/p>\n<p>The game is fun to play though and\u00a0has since been re-released onto the Xbox One. The re-release has full controller support available, as well as\u00a0a new world, <em>Finding Nemo.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">7 <\/span>Cars (71)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Cars-Video-Game-PS2.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>When the first\u00a0<em>Cars<\/em>\u00a0film produced levels of income that not even the most optimistic of <em>Pixar<\/em> employees could have predicted, it was inevitable that a tie-in game would soon follow.<\/p>\n<p>Commendably, developers Rainbow Studios decided against taking the easy route of simply having a level selection screen, containing a collection of races from the film. Instead, they implemented a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/open-world-games-underrated-metascore\/\">hub-world for players to explore<\/a>. Unfortunately,\u00a0<em>Cars<\/em> suffers from the fundamental issue of having sub-par racing controls and physics.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>Cars 2 (72)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Cars-2-Video-Game.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Despite being just a point ahead of <em>Cars, Cars 2\u00a0<\/em>significantly improved the controls and physics from the first game. With a boost system that rewards players for doing risky maneuvers and stunts, as well as\u00a0the inclusion of\u00a0<em>Mario Kart\u00a0<\/em>inspired\u00a0power-ups.\u00a0Furthermore, <em>Cars 2<\/em> improved on <em>Cars&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>bland\u00a0desert-aesthetic with far more immersive\u00a0and visually appealing tracks.<\/p>\n<p><em>Cars 2<\/em> also gave players an impressive lineup of 25 different cars to choose from. Each with its own weight class, as well as speed and power attributes.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>Cars 3: Driven to Win (72)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Cars-3-Video-Game.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Cars <\/em>certainly can&#8217;t be criticized for being inconsistent. With <em>Cars 3<\/em>, the highest-rated game in the trilogy, being just one point ahead of the lowest. Indicative of its identical score, <em>Cars 3<\/em>\u00a0didn&#8217;t improve the series in the same way that <em>Cars 2<\/em> did. A few nice customization options aside though, <em>Cars 3\u00a0<\/em>fails to make the next generation leap to separate itself from the first two installments that fans would have hoped for.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>LEGO The Incredibles (74)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Lego-The-Incredibles.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Movie tie-in games are less common today than they used to be for two reasons. For starters, consumers grew tired of being frequently disappointed with short and generic game versions of their favorite movies. Secondly, when <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/funniest-lego-star-wars-memes-internet\/\"><em>LEGO Star Wars<\/em><\/a> was released in 2005 to excellent sales and reviews, the Danish toy giants took over the movie tie-in genre with their beloved collectathon formula.<\/p>\n<p><em>LEGO The Incredibles<\/em> has everything that\u00a0players would expect in<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/metacritic-best-lego-games\/\"> a <em>LEGO<\/em> game.<\/a> There are a few differentiators from the other entries though. Including side missions\u00a0that provide a nice distraction and special combo moves that are charged by\u00a0consecutively hitting enemies. A Metacritic score of 74 is somewhat sub-par <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ghostbusters-9-franchises-get-lego-game-treatment\/\">for<em> LEGO<\/em> games<\/a>. Likely due to <em>LEGO The Incredibles<\/em> not bringing much else new to the table.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">3 <\/span>Toy Story 2: The Video Game (75)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Toy-Story-2-Video-Game.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Toy Story 2: The Video Game <\/em>does everything that a movie tie-in game should. Along with the excellent soundtrack and visuals fitting of the corresponding film. Developers Traveller&#8217;s Tales clearly tried hard to make not just a great tie-in game, but a great game in its own right.\u00a0<em>Toy Story 2<\/em>\u00a0had excellent platforming and collectathon gameplay. Taking inspiration from classics of the genre like <em>Super Mario 64<\/em> and<em> Banjo-Kazooie.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Players took control of Buzz Lightyear and could utilize his iconic abilities, from the laser beam to his deployable wings.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">2 <\/span>Toy Story Racer (76)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Toy-Story-Racer.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>With <em>Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, <\/em>and<em> Diddy Kong Racing<\/em> filling shelves in the late &#8217;90s, Activision attempted to bring the trend into the 2000s with <em>Toy Story Racer<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Toy Story Racer\u00a0<\/em>contains much of what players would expect from a kart racer. From powerups that can take down other racers, to tracks in iconic locations from the source material. However, the game differentiates itself from the aforementioned titles with its gameplay.\u00a0<em>Toy Story Racer<\/em> has looser, nippier controls more akin to the\u00a0gameplay in <em>Micromachines <\/em>than<em> Mario Kart 64.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">1 <\/span>Toy Story 3: The Video Game (78)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Toy-Story-3-Game.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>With <em>Toy Story 3\u00a0<\/em>taking the top spot, <em>Pixar&#8217;s Toy Story<\/em> impressively occupies the leading three spots on this list.
