Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology has made its way to several smartphones, including the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G. Besides offering a high bandwidth method of transferring data, UWB accurately calculates the distance and relative position between devices, which promises to change the way we interact with smart home devices.<\/p>\n

As Xiaomi demonstrates in the video below, direction tracking tells the phone what device you are pointing at, allowing it to display the relative controls \u2013 simple on\/off switch in the case of a fan, playback controls for speakers and more for a smart TV.<\/p>\n
