This represents the first time that Nintendo Switch owners can\u00a0access\u00a0<em>Super Mario 64<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Super Mario Sunshine<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>Super Mario Galaxy<\/em>.\u00a0Given that the release includes three of the most popular games of all time, it&#8217;s no surprise that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/super-mario-3d-stars-second-best-switch-game-launch\/\">the <em>Mario<\/em> compilation saw huge commercial success<\/a> in its first few weeks. Although the game had some pre-order bonuses from select retailers, the game box itself contained nothing but the game itself.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mario-games-the-mario-movie-could-and-should-adapt\/\">Mario Games the Mario Movie Could (and Should) Adapt<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Etsy user\u00a0Rowan Fox-Noble has created a number of custom manuals for games like\u00a0<em>Super Mario Odyssey<\/em>, but the manual for\u00a0<em>Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em>\u00a0is an especially impressive feat. In addition to reformatting material from the original game manuals, the booklet has added new content, like a checklist of each game&#8217;s main collectibles. The booklet is also perfectly sized to fit into the Nintendo Switch game box. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/super-mario-3d-all-stars-changes\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the <em>Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em>\u00a0collection has several major alterations<\/a>\u00a0when compared to the original games, it definitely deserves its own manual.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RowanFN\/status\/1314571446337839104\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The care put into creating the manual reflects how much gamers worldwide care about Mario. Even as social distancing poses obstacles for gamers worldwide, Mario fans have made some impressive fan works in 2020. These range from novelties\u00a0like the game manual to clever crossovers, such as a fan-made tribute to both\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-fan-animations-mario-minecraft-final-fantasy-fortnite\/\">Mario<em>\u00a0<\/em>and the hit game\u00a0<em>Among Us<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The fact that a fan\u00a0<em>needed<\/em> to create a manual reflects a larger controversy around\u00a0<em>Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/em>. Some critics view the re-release as a low-effort alternative to releasing a new game. More specifically, the collection is a no-frills release, with the only bonus being the ability to listen to <em>Mario<\/em> music from the collection&#8217;s main menu. Many fans were also sad to see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/super-mario-3d-all-stars-galaxy-2-switch-collection\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the absence of <em>Super Mario Galaxy 2<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in the\u00a0new release, with Nintendo providing no official explanation as to why.<\/p>\n<p>Still, Nintendo is clearly putting care into celebrating Mario&#8217;s big anniversary. In addition to battle royale game\u00a0<em>Super Mario Bros. 35<\/em>, Nintendo is releasing <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mario-kart-live-home-circuit-tracks\/\">a new augmented-reality version of <em>Mario Kart<\/em><\/a>, and will port\u00a0<em>Super Mario 3D World<\/em> to the Switch early next year.
