Back in late 2019, a Nintendo Direct revealed to the world that Axiom Verge 2<\/em><\/strong> was in development. The trailer for the game boldly claimed that Axiom Verge 2<\/em><\/a> was going to release during fall 2020, but that is no longer the case.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, fans of Axiom Verge<\/em> will have to wait until the first half of 2021 to get their hands on the sequel. There are a number of games coming out for the Nintendo Switch in 2020<\/a>, but Axiom Verge 2<\/em> will no longer be one of them.<\/p>\n

There are two core reasons why Axiom Verge 2<\/em> is being pushed back until 2021. Firstly, is how complicated the game is compared to the original. Thomas Happ, the developer of\u00a0Axiom Verge 2,\u00a0<\/em>said in a blog post that compared to the original, the sequel is much more complicated to develop.<\/p>\n

This includes enemies for Axiom Verge 2<\/em>. In the original Axiom Verge<\/em><\/a>, enemies move on a set path while in the sequel, enemies use a detection system. Once an enemy finds a player in the sequel, they will chase them, which is far more complicated to develop rather compared to giving enemies a set path to follow. The environment is also much more detailed than the original, as it was designed to be blockier while the sequel will have a more vibrant and detailed world to explore.<\/p>\n
