It’s Thursday again and that can only mean one thing, more free games are available on the Epic Games Store<\/a>. Both will be available for free for the coming week until a new round of games takes their place.<\/p>\n

Appearing on the list of free games is the first-person horror title, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs <\/strong><\/em>and the minimalistic strategy title,\u00a0Kingdom New Lands<\/strong><\/em>. Unlike free-to-play titles like\u00a0Rocket League, Fortnite,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Rogue Company<\/em>, these games will only remain free for a limited time, so fans must be quick to grab them from the Epic Games Store<\/a> while they can.<\/p>\n

Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs<\/em>, the sequel to the critically acclaimed\u00a0Amnesia: The Dark Descent<\/em><\/a>, puts players in the shoes of Oswald Mandus, a wealthy industrialist and butcher who the game implies is distantly related to the protagonist of its predecessor. Oswald must solve a series of puzzles while engulfed in a creepy, hair-raising environment during his quest to regain his memory. The sanity mechanic from the prior game was scrapped for this title, meaning the darkness and looking at the creatures will not hamper the gameplay. While The Dark Descent<\/em> was regarded as a true horror experience, A Machine for Pigs<\/em> is seen as a more creepy and weird title in the series.<\/p>\n

The other free title,\u00a0Kingdom New Lands<\/em>, is of quite a different breed. While both titles are survival-esque, Kingdom New Lands <\/em>allows players to build and create their own kingdom while trying to survive various enemies that fight to steal the player’s crown<\/a>. The player’s potential king or queen must ride on horseback to collect coins so they can purchase resources that will help them on their adventure, such as a defensive wall for protection. The further the royalty departs from the central kingdom, the more dangerous the encounters become.<\/p>\n

Whether players are craving a survival horror game for their Halloween needs<\/a> or a exploration based, resource manager, both titles should please anyone looking for a free game to play this week. Free games should always be welcome, even if they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.<\/p>\n

Next week, Costume Quest 2 <\/em>and Layers of Fear 2<\/em> will be the free titles on the Epic Games Store, which will surely come in handy during the spooky Halloween season<\/a>.<\/p>\n
