One small detail that many people are pointing out was only very subtly included in the showcase. Keen eyes noticed wording that indicates players will be able to suspend multiple games on the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/ps5\/\">PlayStation 5<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The next era for PlayStation already looks impressive. The <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-retail-box-burger-king-commercial\/\">PS5 appearance has been debated by fans<\/a> who are passionate on both sides, but the inside is what ultimately counts. The PS5 boasts incredible graphics and next gen speed and power. The battle for exclusive titles have\u00a0typically been in PlayStation\u2019s favor, and at the start of this cycle appears to once again favor Sony&#8217;s new console. Now, it seems PlayStation 5 will also come with a feature that was seemingly an Xbox Series X exclusive.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-mountain-dew-doritos-free-ps5\/\">Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Mountain Dew Promotion Includes Chance to Win PS5 Console<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Keen eyes discovered two small details that speak loudly about a new feature for the PS5. During <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sony-official-playstation-5-user-interface\/\">the new PS5 UI showcase<\/a>, two games are swapped without any sort of warning appearing on the screen. On the PlayStation 4, swapping to a new game warrants a pop-up that alerts the action will close the previous game. This was not the case this time, seemingly hinting that it won\u2019t be an issue on the console.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Tidux\/status\/1316742317248831489\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The larger and more concrete detail appears in the Power section of the PlayStation 5 menu. The options are the same, with Rest Mode, Turn Off, and Restart. However, the text below the Rest Mode option specifically states that entering the mode would suspend the player\u2019s current games, plural. This is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/new-playstation-store-launch-date\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">big change to the PS5<\/a> that hasn\u2019t appeared in previous PlayStation consoles. Simply put, this means that players can in fact have multiple games running at once, swapping between each as they see fit.<\/p>\n<p>As with any big PlayStation update, there is no guarantee that this feature works perfectly at launch. Players have to remember that some games don\u2019t benefit well from this sort of mechanic. Pausing a match of <em>Call of Duty<\/em> in order to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-4-remake-ps5\/\">play the <em>Resident Evil 4 Remake<\/em><\/a>\u00a0will likely result in a bad match when they return to the game. However, this can work for families who want to share a console or if someone wants to take a break from a horror game and play something light and fun for a bit.<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-offline-games-updates\/\">PlayStation update is something fans have wanted<\/a> for a while, and it looks like their requests have been heard. If this next generation of gaming really is all about the players, then this is a step in the right direction.
