Obsidian Entertainment’s survival\u00a0game Grounded<\/em><\/strong> and its shrunken world are\u00a0getting an update for the Xbox Series X. Even though the game is still in Early Access, Grounded<\/em>\u00a0still gets updates<\/a> with improvements to\u00a0the content as the months go by. The developer shared some more details on the game’s optimization on the next-generation console and what effects it\u00a0will have once the console launches this November.<\/p>\n

The news comes from Obsidian Entertainment’s Director of Communication, Mikey Dowling, who shed some light on the update and what it will bring to the game.\u00a0The developer announced that Grounded<\/em><\/a> will be getting optimized for the console through the use of Smart Delivery technology. The Smart Delivery feature will let players purchase the\u00a0game for the Xbox One and still be able to play it on the next-gen Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.<\/p>\n

The feature\u00a0will provide\u00a0players an automatic upgrade to the game and bring out the best version possible for Grounded<\/em>. The update will have the game running at\u00a060 FPS with 4K resolution on\u00a0Xbox Series<\/a> consoles with improved gameplay performance.\u00a0It will\u00a0better show off the game’s ant-sized world in even greater detail than before. There will also be an increased\u00a0graphic fidelity, improved loading times,\u00a0and HDR support.<\/p>\n

This lets\u00a0the game show off even more of Grounded’s<\/em> insects, grass, trees, acorn, and turns it all into a stunning sight to behold. The update doesn’t add content like Grounded’s\u00a0<\/em>September\u00a0updates<\/a>, which were more seasonal updates whereas this is for the overall game itself. Obsidian is certainly taking full advantage of the Xbox Smart Delivery feature and the console’s technical power to bring out the best in Grounded<\/em>.<\/p>\n

There are plenty of current Xbox games using Smart Delivery<\/a> technology in order to provide new updates to make\u00a0the transition over to the Xbox Series consoles more seamless. Even new game releases will be relying on the new Xbox feature when they launch, such as Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> and Halo Infinite<\/em>. As long as a\u00a0game is available on the present or new Xbox console, then it will\u00a0likely receive the new updates via Smart Delivery for free and allow players\u00a0to always get the best version of their games.<\/p>\n

Obsidian Entertainment is taking full advantage of this for the game for the next-generation console. When the new Xbox Series X is released\u00a0to \u00a0the public,\u00a0the update will optimize everything in\u00a0Grounded’s<\/em> backyard setting<\/a>\u00a0for players to enjoy.<\/p>\n

Grounded<\/em><\/strong> is in Early Access for PC and Xbox One, and will launch for Xbox Series X on November 10.<\/p>\n
