The best Galaxy Note 10 cases on the market
The Galaxy Note 10 is here, and it’s a gorgeous sight to behold. Samsung’s latest entry in the Note series is a lot more manageable than past Notes, offering a large, bezel-less display in a form factor that’s easy to hold. As striking as it is it may be, however, the large screen, glass back, and thin metal frame mean it likely won’t hold up that well in the event of a fall. Want to ensure the Note 10 stays looking good for years to come? Here are a few cases we recommend checking out.
There’s not a right or wrong time to pick up a case for your Galaxy Note 10, but with Black Friday right around the corner, we’re about to enter a season of discounts that are bound to slash prices on some of those cases you’ve been eyeing for your phone. As these deals pop up, we’ll update the roundup below to reflect the latest and greatest prices.

Third time’s a charm
$50 at Amazon
Pros

New Plum color!
Cons
No real difference in functionality compared to 2nd Gen Dot
Whether you already have 2nd Gen Echo Dot or are looking to buy into the Alexa ecosystem for the first time, the Echo Dot (3rd Gen) is a phenomenal product. It looks great, sounds better than ever, and retains the excellent price tag.

Respect your elders
Formerly $40 at Amazon
Pros

Same great Alexa experience
Cons
Sound quality doesn’t hold up
Plastic design is boring

Should you buy a Moto X4 in 2019?
Best answer: The Moto X4 has proven to be a great phone over the last couple of years, but in 2019, it’s no longer our go-to recommendation. Instead, we think you’re better off with something like the Moto G7 or Nokia 7.2.
Everything you need: Moto G7 ($300 at Amazon)
HDR display: Nokia 7.2 ($349 at Amazon)
The Moto X4 is quickly reaching its end of life
Although it’s hard to believe, the Moto X4 is well beyond its second birthday. The phone was announced in August 2017, and in the smartphone market, that’s a lifetime.
To be fair, the X4 has lived a pretty great life. Even though Motorola’s not the best when it comes to software updates, the phone’s now running Android 9 Pie in all of its glory, and that’s awesome.
Looking ahead, however, the Moto X4’s future doesn’t look bright. The phone’s already received two major software updates, having launched with Android Nougat, and Motorola hasn’t announced any plans to update the X4 to Android 10.
Furthermore, the phone’s design, … 閱讀全文
These cases for the Pixel 4 are ‘clear’ winners
With its slick glass back and striking color options, the Pixel 4 is a gorgeous piece of tech. As good as it may look, though, the right drop will turn it into a shattered mess in no time at all. If you want to avoid that from happening without hiding the Pixel 4’s natural beauty, a clear case is what you’ll want. Here are our favorite ones!
The clear winner
Spigen Liquid Crystal
Staff pick
When it comes to clear cases, the best one you can get is the Spigen Liquid Crystal. It’s a slim and lightweight case that’s form-fitted to go on the Pixel 4 just right. The TPU material gives the phone a welcomed grip, and at just 0.11-inches thick, it doesn’t add unwanted bulk.
$10 at Amazon
Slim and rugged
Spigen Ultra Hybrid
If you find yourself needing a bit more protection than what the Liquid Crystal can offer, the Ultra Hybrid fits the bill nicely. Along with its clear back, there’s also a reinforced bumper that gives you even more safety against drops/falls.

Facebook Libra loses support from Visa, Mastercard, eBay, and Stripe
The news comes just a week after PayPal left.
What you need to know
Facebook’s Libra Association has lost four more of its founding members.
This time around, Visa, Mastercard, eBay, and Stripe are pulling their support.
A week prior, PayPal dropped out of the group.
The idea of a Facebook-lead cryptocurrency raised a lot of eyebrows when it was first announced in June, though support from a laundry list of well-established companies gave it a feeling of legitimacy it would have otherwise lacked. However, that initial support is quickly starting to fade away.
On October 4, PayPal announced that it was leaving Facebook’s Libra Association to focus on its own business ventures. Now, reports from The Verge, Financial Times and Bloomberg reveal that Visa, Mastercard, eBay, and Stripe are also leaving the group.
While Mastercard has yet to offer any comment regarding the news, Visa, eBay, and Stripe have spoken out. Starting first with Visa:
Visa has decided not to join the Libra … 閱讀全文
Why I’m glad Google’s done with dessert names for Android
Let’s face it — this was bound to happen sooner or later.
Ever since the release of Android 1.5 Cupcake back in 2009, every subsequent update for the OS has had a tasty dessert name to go along with its numerical position — some of my favorites being Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Pie, and the classic Froyo.
These dessert names have been a staple of the Android brand for nearly a decade, and leading up to each new release, part of the fun is guessing what treat name Google’s come up with. We’ve been painstakingly brainstorming what in the world Android Q would be called, but last week, Google dropped quite the bombshell with its announcement that Q’s official name would just be “Android 10”. From this point forward, Google and Android are done with the dessert names.
This came as quite a shock, and a lot of longtime Android users are (unsurprisingly) not happy with this decision. While I fully agree that the updated naming scheme isn’t nearly as fun or… 閱讀全文
