Humankind is a strategy game currently in development by Amplitude Studios and Sega. Originally, the game was supposed to release this year, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it was announced several months ago that the game was delayed. Now, its release date in 2021 has been narrowed down.
For players who have been waiting for a more specific date on when to expect Humankind, Amplitude Studios confirmed the game will launch next April for the PC and Google Stadia. However, players on Stadia can try Humankind right now through a new OpenDev Beta Scenario, which will provide access to a free 100-turn gameplay scenario that offers players a glimpse of the upcoming title. This preview will allow players to try out different scenarios and return feedback to the developers.
Amplitude highlighted that player feedback will be a very important step for the development of Humankind, with the studio saying in a previous Twitter post that “we want YOU to make the game even better.” Of course, given the wide variety of established strategy games that are already out in the market, player feedback could be an invaluable resource for Amplitude Studios to make Humankind stand out from its competition.
Additionally, pre-orders for Humankind are also available today, which includes a digital deluxe edition. This special version of Humankind will include the in-game Notre-Dame pack, the Official Digital Soundtrack, and a PDF copy of the Unit & Tech Tree. Moreover, players who pre-purchase Humankind will receive bonuses such as a Boudicca Avatar Set, Player Profile Pre-Purchase Decoration, and Player Profile Symbol Set.
Humankind is set to release in April 2021 for PC and Stadia.
