Diluc is one of the most powerful characters players can obtain in Genshin Impact, and comes with two straightforward builds to harness his true potential if players are lucky enough to get their hands on him through Genshin Impact‘s gacha system.
Genshin Impact‘s system has successfully earned over $100 million because the small chance of winning those five-star, S-tier characters has become addictive for players. Even though there’s only a 0.6 percent chance of winning a five-star through Wishing, players are still pouring hundreds of dollars into making attempts at obtaining characters like Diluc.
Diluc is a Pyro and claymore user whose charged and Elemental Burst attacks allow him to deal hefty damage to targets, so he requires a build to support those attributes. Players have a couple of different routes they can take depending on if they want to focus on his raw attack stat or his Pyro Damage stat, but the best weapon for the latter build is nearly as difficult to acquire as the character himself.
Diluc’s regular and charged attacks deal raw damage rather than Elemental Burst Damage, so this build relies on enhancing his attack percent more than the alternative build. While it ignores Diluc’s Pyro abilities, it will be much easier to obtain in-game, especially for players attempting to spend as little money on the gacha as possible.
Like many other DPS builds in Genshin Impact, Diluc will get great use out of the Gladiator’s Finale Artifact set. The two-piece set gives the user an attack percent increase of 18 percent, and the four-piece gives another 35 percent because he is a claymore wielder. Alternatively, many players also find use combining the Gladiator two-piece set with the Bloodstained Chivalry two-piece set for a Physical Damage increase of 25 percent.
One of the best weapons for this build is the Prototype Animus, which can be crafted at the Blacksmith with the right resources. With it, normal and charged attacks have a 50 percent chance of dealing an extra 240 percent damage within a small Area of Effect once every 15 seconds. Any other weapon that marginally increases raw attack and attack percent will work with this build until players can get their hands on the Prototype Animus.
Diluc’s Elemental Skill can be pressed three times consecutively to deal Pyro damage, and increases marginally with each hit. This attack also has a short cooldown, meaning that enhancing Diluc’s Pyro abilities can force him to deal a great amount of Pyro damage to targets and can switch out with an Elemental Support character to get Elemental Mastery Damage. Alternatively, the weapon used for this build enhances Diluc’s raw attack, so his regular and charged attacks can be used in these gaps and make him an independent damage dealer.
Like other Pyro DPS characters such as Xiangling, Diluc should be equipped with the Crimson Witch of Flames Artifact set for a Pyro Damage increase of 15 percent, as well as Overloaded and Burning Damage increase by 40 percent and Vaporize and Melt by 15 percent. Using an Elemental Skill will also increase two-piece set effects by another 50 percent for 10 seconds, and can be stacked three times. Crimson Witch of Flames Artifacts can be obtained in the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula.
The best weapon for this build is a five-star and can only be obtained through the gacha, so the Prototype Animus can work as an alternative until Wolf’s Gravestone is acquired. Wolf’s Gravestone increases base attack by 20 percent, and boosts all party member’s base attack on their weapons by 40 percent for 12 seconds once every 30 seconds.
Genshin Impact is available now for Mobile, PC, and PS4. A Switch version is in development.
