Pokemon GO fans have already been celebrating the arrival of fall with new seasonally appropriate Pokemon, like Deerling, but November holds an entirely new slew of events for Trainers to enjoy.
Niantic has released the details for the upcoming month of Pokemon GO events, and it’s set to include a new rotation of Pokemon to challenge in Raid Battles, alongside special new Pokemon Spotlight Hours, and a new Research Breakthrough Reward for November. The five-star Legendary Raid will change every week of November, with a weekly Legendary Raid Hour occurring every Wednesday at 6 PM (local time).
Starting November 1st, 2020, at 1 PM, the weekly Research Breakthrough encounter will be Togetic, the Happiness Pokemon. During the first week of November, Pokemon Trainers will be able to challenge Darkrai in five-star Raids, while the second week of November promises a “familiar Pokemon.” Week 3 will give players the chance to catch Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion (and their Shinies) yet again, and Week 4’s Legendary feature will be announced at a future date. Raid Hours featuring these powerful Pokemon will occur for all players every Wednesday of November, at 6 PM.
Pokemon Spotlight Hours will occur every Tuesday, at 6 PM (local time), and feature (sequentially) Cubone, Jigglypuff, Meowth, and Barboach. Unfortunately, still no word on Galarian Ponyta or the Farfetch’d family, but nonetheless, each day will spotlight a particular Pokemon and grant players a unique special bonus. Past bonuses have included double catch and/or hatch bonuses, and often vary between XP, Stardust, and Candy related perks.
To boot, this announcement promises another Limited Research event set to take place on November 28 (featured Pokemon TBA,) and a series of incoming Pokemon GO quality of life adjustments. The game will soon be able to display more detailed information about players’ Pokemon, such as what kind of egg they hatched from, or if they met under special circumstances. Moreover, newer players will soon receive Special Research lines slowly, instead of all at once, so as to not overwhelm players.
This November post follows the footsteps of a recent cryptic tweet from Niantic, which features a leek and simply asks Pokemon Trainers to “Stay tuned!” The tweet is currently pinned to the top of their official Twitter page, and some fans speculate it may provide answers to the questions left behind by Niantic’s November announcement. Although it’s unlikely that a colorful Galarian Ponyta or a leek-affiliated Pokemon, like Farfetch’d, would make its way into five-star Raids for the Wednesday Legendary Raids, they would be suitable specimens for the yet-to-be-revealed November Limited Research.
Pokemon GO is available now on the App Store and Google Play.
