Call of Duty: Warzone Player Showcases New Helicopter Strategy By Being Patient

Using a helicopter in Call of Duty: Warzone can be a high-risk situation. Although traveling by air is the fastest mode of travel in the game, the noise and large body of the helicopter make it an easy target. That is why Call of Duty: Warzone fans need every trick possible to secure and use these flying machines.

A common strategy in Warzone is to drop onto a helicopter and fly to one of the many underground bunkers scattered across the map. These bunkers are filled with legendary weapons, tons of loot boxes, and sometimes special blueprints. Being first to a bunker means great rewards, while being second makes things slightly more difficult.

Reddit user nervandle was in a difficult situation like that when they came up with an impromptu strategy. Knowing how deadly a helicopter in Call of Duty: Warzone can be, they hid on the far side of the machine and waited. Once they heard an enemy approaching, they entered the chopper, immediately starting the blades turning and warming the engine up. This caused the player, who had just lep to the helicopter, to go flying into the blades mid-jump. While simple, most players don’t even consider the possibility that the helicopter might get stolen, and bravely jump to enter the vehicle from above.

Moments like this can really make Warzone shine, as adaptable players with unique ideas can always find a way to triumph. When met with a tough situation, the player used the only weapon that would guarantee them either victory or a quick escape. Helicopters are notoriously deadly for players who meet the machine from the blade side first.

This strategy won’t be effective in Call of Duty: Warzone Verdansk Night map, as Infinity Ward has removed helicopters, along with making several other changes to the night-variant of the popular city that were meant to ensure a fair games. It is currently unknown if helicopters will return, but until then fans will have to use other means when traveling across the massive map.

Fans of Call of Duty: Warzone will want to be careful when trying out this new strategy. Since the C4 nerf went live in Warzone, it has become exceedingly popular to trap cars and helicopters in hopes of trying to catch some easy kills. Players should look near the bottom and sides of the vehicles for C4 or other explosives before taking off and attempting to steal the chopper.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
