Over the course of the last week, Call of Duty: Warzone has been had the new Halloween-themed event Haunting of Verdansk. This event has been popular among many fans, but it is not without its own glitches and problems, as Call of Duty: Warzone’s bugs have made an appearance in the new content, preventing fans from progressing in challenges.
As far as bugs go, one new one is extremely situational. Many players often find bugs in the game that has to do with textures, models, or exploits but this glitch is affecting missions. Members of the Call of Duty community are reporting that challenges for Gaz may not be triggering correctly during the event.
Reddit user City_of_Wolves is one of several players to report that something is wrong with Operator Gaz’s challenges. Although they have completed the challenge several times, the game does not seem to be registering it during the event. Out of experimentation, the player has tried to complete the challenge in “Trick or Trios” and “BR Solo Survivor,” which has brought them to the conclusion that the game’s Special Event is simply not registering challenges. This is, of course, a theory by the game’s community but some players report a slightly different story.
One player commented on the post saying that they had tried the same Gaz challenge prior to the Haunting’s release, and that the challenge was not triggering before making this a persisting issue. While the developers have not fixed the problem in the Haunting patch, many players doubt that it will be fixed after the patch is removed.
A theory by another player in the comments points to a known Warzone model glitch that appears when players are dropping from the plane. Sometimes, the player’s operator will switch to a different operator before the jump. If the game registers this switch as more than just cosmetic, there is a high chance that the game is ignoring the challenge due to the wrong operator being played.
Some players even report that this bug has been around since the initial release of the Gaz bundle. The only solution that the game’s community is aware of is buying a Gaz skin. By purchasing a skin the game reaffirms ownership of Gaz and seems to unlock the missions as part of the process. Although this is not how the game is supposed to function, it does provide a possible explanation for this bug’s appearance.
