Phasmophobia Update 3 Fixes A Ton of Bugs and Adds New Content

Following in the footsteps of Fall Guys and Among Us, it seems Phasmophobia is the next indie multiplayer gem to transform into a global phenomenon, with the game recently topping the Steam sales charts. Over the weeks, YouTubers, streamers, and general audiences have quickly become enamored with the co-op ghost hunting simulator, with it quickly becoming one of this month’s most essential games.

Released today, the title has just got its third major post-launch update, with Kinetic Games taking to Steam to inform players of everything added to the popular four-player horror experience. It seems the focus of the update has been to offer a number of much-needed bug fixes, some important changes, and a host of Halloween additions, with the patch sure to create a more seamless experience for those who regularly play Phasmophobia.

In terms of fixes, the update will look to eradicate a variety of bugs effecting near every aspect of the game. One fix prevents an issue where players’ microphones would reset in the audio options for the game, while a second touts a “potential fix” for save files becoming corrupted when Phasmophobia crashes. Meanwhile, a bug that saw the player’s sanity rise when encountering ghosts has been removed alongside another that would crash a player’s game if they had a 1GB VRAM graphics card. That’s only a small portion of the fixes available, with players able to find the rest through the link in the tweet below.

In terms of features added to Phasmophobia, a new voice sensitivity slider has been made available in the game’s settings, the text on the spirit box will now say what the ghost’s response was, and LIV support for VR has been added. The game has also received some new Halloween-inspired additions, although it’s up to players to find out what these are for themselves. Kinetic Games did tease one addition on Twitter, however, claiming that a new ghost name has been added to the game. It seems the name will be Walter White, the protagonist of Breaking Badwith the developer claiming the spirit is “the one that knocks.”

Alongside these bug fixes and new additions, there have also been some notable changes, including the EMF Reader sound being lowered, Ghost Writing now counting as evidence, the amount of sanity lowered for seeing a ghost being reduced, and a lineup of other equally small but important changes. All in all, it looks like a significant update that will make for a better ghost hunting experience for Phasmophobia’s fast-growing player base.

Phasmophobia is out now on PC.
