Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Trailer Shows Off PC Version Features

Activision treated Call of Duty fans to a teaser of what PC players can expect when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches in a couple of weeks, with a short trailer showcasing the power of Nvidia’s RTX 30 series graphics cards.

The recent beta for the upcoming first-person shooter became the most downloaded beta in Call of Duty history, as players dove into the multiplayer action ahead of the full release on November 13. While many players may be looking to play the latest installment in the Black Ops series on a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, going off today’s trailer, playing the game on PC might be the best way to experience the action.

The PC version of Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War will feature 4K capability as well as “uncapped frame-rates,” something that should go down well with online players of the game. Ray tracing and “ambient occlusion” mean those lit up areas and shadowy corridors should look better than ever in the series. The PC version will also support “Nvidia DLSS & Reflex Technology” and will support ultrawide monitors, as well as having multiple customization options – this year’s console versions will see Field of View slider for the first time.

The game looks sharp throughout the trailer, with each environment utilizing the RTX 30 while explosions look and feel impactful. With the Black Ops series being a fan-favorite among Call of Duty players, with a Black Ops character coming top of this ranking of Call of Duty main characters, and the release coinciding with the next generation of consoles, as well as new graphic card offerings from AMD and Nvidia, Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is off to a winning start already.

Something missing from today’s trailer was any footage of the upcoming return of zombies to Call of Duty. Despite having the features mentioned above, one mode that PC players won’t be able to play, at least not for a little while, is the Zombies Onslaught mode which is exclusive to PlayStation for a year.

In fact, if you want to play Call of Duty Zombies, the PS5 is the place to go, with Call of Duty Black Ops 3 – Zombie Chronicles added to the upcoming PS Plus Collection earlier today. Featuring classics like Kino Der Toten and Origins, players can also play the original Zombies map, Nacht De Untoten, which is also playable in the upcoming Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War will release on November 13  on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
